I expected more. The food was ok but the choices were very slim. In my opinion it by no means was worth the price of the food. The service was great though.

A local farm-to-table place to eat in Tifton. Normally we hit the chains, but got this recommendation from a person working at the hotel. Parking is tight, and the old house is authentic on the outside and cute on the inside. Our waitress offered my wife her jacked if she got cold. The Bourbon selection was pretty great and included EH Taylor Small Batch and Stagg (Jr.). The charcuterie plate was awesome with the best sausage and pimento cheese, the chicken fried NY Strip (you read that right) was second-to-none. Would 100% recommend for grown ups with good mobility and above-average parking skills. Not a kids place, and a bunch of stairs might be hard to navigate for some people.

Nice place. Just a very small menu. And that's not what was the problem. As with the small menu they were sold out of two of the ones I would even want to get and it was only 5 pm.

My husband and I were on our way to Florida and spent the night in Tifton. We like to support local businesses and read that this restaurant was very good so we called ahead and made a reservation. The restaurant is located in the “Main Street” part of town (a bit of a drive from the hotels) tho the street name is actually Love Avenue. It’s a converted old house and the ambiance is warm and quaint. The wait staff were very nice and our server checked on us frequently. We shared the Brie appetizer which was fabulous (photo included), I had the fried chicken over orzo (also delicious) and my husband had the chicken fried steak — not recommended because the steak was too chewy. For dessert we shared the pecan and caramel bread pudding which was good but not anything special. What made the evening really special was the caring and concern of the staff. Here’s why… my husband and I were lucky to find an Uber driver to take us to the restaurant (we don’t drink and drive) but when dinner was over there were no drivers! We learned that transportation options are virtually non existent in Tifton so the restaurant’s cook offered to drive us back to the hotel. In all our years of dining, we have never experienced such warmth and love from a restaurant. If we are ever in Tifton we will be sure to stop by again and support our friends at the Local Kitchen and Bar.

The food was absolutely delicious . It was seasoned to perfection, the flavors were fabulous together. The drinks were smooth and refreshing. We will be back to see what's new on the menu since it changes every few weeks. The staff was very attentive.

Always looking for local gems when traveling and The Local did not disappoint. Restaurant is in an 1890's house that appears to have maintained its original character. Staff was welcoming, personable, and attentive. I don't order shrimp and grits often, but this was one of the best I have had - the shrimp was cooked perfectly, the accompanying sausage pieces were thinly sliced with a bit of char around the edges, and the sauce complemented the dish with the right amount of spice. The bread pudding for dessert was excellent - not overly dense or sweet. Although I ate too much I couldn't help myself (and slept good that night!). I am already thinking of excuses to take me back to the area.

Do not park in their parking lot if you are taking your child to Speech Therapy. Or if you have children at all.

Where to begin!!! We travel extensively for business and pleasure. This week our business travels brought us on a tour through Georgia. Not wanting to eat at yet another chain establishment, I sought out a local gem. The reviews were great and the menu had my mouth watering. We arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday, without a reservation. I would highly recommend making a reservation as it is a small local restaurant, the only one of its kind in town. We were seated quickly and our server was so sweet and knowledgeable! We had craft cocktails and a charcuterie board for an appetizer. The pimento cheese and pickled green beans were amazing! The freshness of ingredients really came through. For dinner I had the NY Strip, served with mashed potatoes and green beans. He had the shrimp and grits. We are still arguing over who had the best meal! My steak was perfectly cooked, the potatoes were real, like my mama used to make, and it paired wonderfully with a glass of Austin Hope Cabernet. (They won great points by having my favorite wine!!) His shrimp and grits were phenomenal. As a born and bred southerner, I know shrimp and grits, and these were some of the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sausage was fresh and local. The grits were freshly cooked, something you don’t get often. But… the sauce!!!! Clearly it was homemade and locally sourced, I would bottle it if I was them! Their famous key lime pie was not on the menu this week, or we would have tried that too! Overall, it was a wonderful dinner. Our drinks were great, the service was good and the food was delicious. One thing to note: in true, fresh, farm to table fashion, this is not fast food dining. Be prepared to spend a while. We were there almost 2 hours. The courses came out perfectly spaced and we never felt like we were waiting long for anything. It is an experience, if you’re in a hurry, there are plenty of chain spots in town. On our way out we met the owner. She was lovely and you could tell that this is her passion. We will absolutely come back when our travels bring us back through this little South Georgia town!

We had an excellant experience at The Local passing through Tifton, with a very kind and helpful server. The baked feta and charcuterie board were great starters. The gorganzola was an excellent addition to the meats and cheeses. The cheddar biscuits were hot, fresh and some of the best we've ever had. The New York strip was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Lastly the bread putting and chocolate torte were fantastic desserts that we ate every bit of. You can tell they take pride in what they do there. Overall, excellent service, food, and experience!
