The food was amazing, and so was the atmosphere. I'm a little prissy, maybe even boogie, so I didn't want to stay. I'm so glad I did. I simply love Angel and Chef! Will definitely be back.

Hey family, just go and try it!
Shrimp were small for the price! Overpriced! Waitress was great but quality of food was not worth the price!
If you're in the area or driving by, this is a MUST stop. Jerome was wonderful and our waitress Joy gave us some of the best service we could've asked for. Food was absolutely amazing! Home made hush puppies were perfect, and we all highly recommend the Mac n cheese. Sweet tea was so delicious we bought a jug to go. We plan to come back if we ever find ourselves in the area again!! (Was an honor to meet Miss Maxine)
Don’t let the OLD building fool you. That building has more love and it shows in the food and service.
Stopped there in the evening hours. Ordered the wheelchair special plate. My meal came with 2 sides of Mac n Cheese and lightly sweetened potato salad, a piece of fish, lightly breaded shrimp, a higher piece of meat slathered in bbq sauce. In addition I got the pecan pie and a ginger ale soda. The decor is an electric mix of old memorabilia and posters of movie stars and pictures of past patrons. I was disappointed. This place came highly recommended. The potato salad did not need to be sweetened, the fish was bland, the shrimp was good because it was lightly breaded but bland too. The pecan pie felt and looked store bought. The hush puppies with that bit of corn was the best! Menu items are priced with tip roughly $25 to $100 plus depending on what you order and how many ppl are in your party. Heavily seafood based menu. So you will need cash as they don't accept debit/credit cards.
This place is definitely something to behold. And if you are interested in any of the artifacts, they are for sale. The waitress I had and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I appreciated that immensely. The chef came out with his parrot and went around talking with everyone which was really cool. Go for the experience. Best part is it is not far from the Smallest Church in America!
Strange out of the way place, wonderful chef. Great food!
The service by this adorable young lady with a southern accent was delightful. She appeared with water, lemon and silverware without any prompting. There was enough food, rather more than enough for the next day. OK, collard greens like my mom's, the ribs were melt in your mouth seasoned falling off the bone, Mac and cheesey cheese comfort dish, sweet potato yams, melt in your mouth shrimp. I will do it all over again. Don't let the outside fool you, best comfort food for a restaurant ever.
My family and I decided to stop here on Easter and enjoyed every bite. We had a great conversation with Chef Jerome and got to meet his pet bird. We plan to visit again soon!
There are no words that I can offer that would do this place justice. You just need to go; that is, if you want to be treated like family and like eating delicious food.

Just go. Why are you reading reviews and not on your way to Old School Diner? It's the same as going to your family gathering, because to Chef Jerome, all who enter are his family. Also, the food is delicious.
Love this place! Can't wait to go again.
Absolutely the best shrimp!! Off the beaten path, but don’t be mistaken!! It’s incredible atmosphere with simple DOWN home kindness. “Make yourself at home” “you know where the tea is, help yourself”…just like home. We got the wheelchair….TRUST THE CHEF!
Was amazing just loved everything well worth going
