Food is hit or miss. Sometimes brisket is good. Others, it's dry as a bone.

Great place for old fashioned, filling breakfast and biscuits. Can't beat it.

Will not be returning here. The food was not good. The place was smokey. It was cold, too much wood. It just wasn't a good experience.

First and last visit, very disappointing.

1. The coffee was served out of a styrofoam cup.

2. We ordered French toast with bacon and a salmon croquette, pancakes “Kid cakes”, and a Country fried steak dinner with collards and fried okra. Once the waiter put the ticket in, the food was already prepared and sitting for at-least 10 minutes.. the gravy developed a fat cap. Collards were tangy and tasted like they were canned. The salmon cake tasted like it was precooked and refrigerated. The cornbread was dry and the garlic bread was extra buttery with no garlic.

3. When it was time to pay for the bill, the waitress over charged us for multiple things. She charged us for a kids meal, we ordered pancakes. Then she charged me for a cowboy size country steak dinner but i asked for a regular size. The manager “corrected” the mistake but it was still wrong. On the bill the manager charged me $4.99 for Kid cakes but on their menu it specifically states $4.49. This is why it’s so important to look at your check thoroughly because businesses try to take advantage of you.

The lady at the front doesn’t have much enthusiasm or hospitality, very rude.

Overall, we enjoyed the fried okra and pancakes. The atmosphere was calm, and quiet.

Due to this experience, we will not return nor recommend to anyone.

If I could give a 0, I would. I advise you to check out their sanitation score. It is subpar and I will never return!

I love their food. Particularly the salmon croquettes breakfast. It's just way too salty. When you're trying to watch your bp and control your salt intake, salty foods really stand out. Otherwise, delicious!

We were terribly disappointed to find that breakfast is no longer available after 2;00 .... and our server was afraid we would join the customers who had simply walked out after learning about it.
The food we ordered was great, but it wasn't the breakfast we had gone to Hickory House for.

Eat at Old Hickory house alot, however today was a day experience. My wife and I went there today before heading to the airport so we would have a job meal to sustain us while we were flying today. Unfortunately when we got on the plane and bite into our ribs they were hard and tough. Never had ribs like that from here before and was truly left in shock... Hoping that today's experience was just an off day...

Nasty 🤢 tastes like nursing home / hospital food. Wasted $20 on the combo plate thinking I’d like something and hated it all. The sides, the muffins, all of it. 2/10 only ate it out of survival for the night. Never going back.

Decent food and atmosphere but very slooooow service. We have waited 25 minutes for a simple breakfast. I can't imagine how it is at peak times.
