We only had the opportunity to visit the Square Cafe as they have an arrangement The Fitzpatrick Hotel next door. Guests at the Hotel can come into the Cafe for a Free Breakfast Bowl which is eggs, cheese, and bacon over grits. We also ordered coffee (which is very inexpensive but not included with the Breakfast). The Staff are friendly and out going, the food was delicious (tasted like it was straight from Home) and the Coffee (which I regret to say I am usually disappointed with in most places) was good and strong. We ate our breakfast at the window bar and watershed the Town Square as morning broke and the Town stirred from it's slumber. Unfortunately for me and my wife we are Gluten Free and therefore didn't have the opportunity to sample any of their Baked Goods, which looked scrumptious.

Was surprised I was able to find a food that I like on this small town, I’m a vegetarian and it’s always a quite challenge to find a food that I can eat.Places had ALMOND MILK for my coffee and they had grits with veggies. Great place , especially if you VEGAN or VEGETARIAN you will be able to eat and enjoy here! Stuff was nice and they had HIGH SPEED WI-FI AVAILABLE.

We were in downtown Washington, GA and found this delightful, cozy cafe. The customer service was wonderful. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and my husband had the special. The sandwiches were large and tasted great! We will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Salmon soup (chowder) was absolutely excellent. Chicken salad sandwiches were fresh and good. Definitely a nice lunch stop right on the main square.

Service started bad and went downhill from there . It was like we were a bother for the employees or they were annoyed by us . Asking for lemon my water seem to be annoying to the staff . ( I don't like the taste of tap water) . Only one cup of coffee left so they gave it to the customer behind us because he was a "regular" while we waited for a new pot to brew . Our breakfast bowls were ready but left on the back counter to get cold while they were waiting for the coffee to brew (I guess they wanted to serve it all at once) The best part ,as we were leaving the woman behind the counter hollers out at us "HAVE FUN KILLING STUFF" Maybe she assumed we were hunters? I'm not sure . I'm not a hunter , never hunted anything other than antiques and I don't own any guns . I guess our Carharts attire led her to think we were hunters , but she scurried right to the back kitchen out of site so we couldn't question what she meant by that comment . My second time here , the only place I've had grits that I liked and ate more than a taste of them. It's pretty clear that are not welcome back . Maybe they only want "regular " customers ? Maybe there is a dress code ?

Service wasn’t great from the beginning .Asking for lemon with my water seemed bothersome to the staff.Only one cup of coffee left so they gave it to the guy in line behind us because he was a regular customer (according to the employee, in his own words)Ordered an apricot danish, at the end of my meal I realized I didn’t get the danish so I asked if I had been charged for it (thinking maybe I forgot to order it) I had been charged so I simply asked for my money to be refunded , they refunded me the price of the danish but I asked about the sales tax (not that I needed the few pennies , it was just the principle. The best part, really the only reason I wasted this time in my day for this place I will never return toAs we were leaving the owner yells out to us “HAVE FUN KILLING STUFF” ? Then she scurried out of sight into the back kitchen .Maybe because the way we were dressed in our Carharts and such ,she assumed we were hunters? Not hunters , never hunted in my life , don’t own any guns .We are all humans , we all make mistakes .Just own it and move on .Her childish comment as we were leaving was than graceful

Started off, asking for lemon with my water seem to be an ordeal and like I was bothersome to the staff, but we got past it. My friend ordered coffee and apparently they only had one cup left but they gave it to the guy in line behind us because he was a regular customer (according to the kid behind the counter) . Our food was ready but they were leaving it sit on the back counter until our drinks were ready, I guess? As I was eating I realized I didn’t get the apricot danish I ordered . While visiting the area last February we had breakfast here with friends, it was delicious . The only time I’ve had grits that I actually liked and ate more than one bite, always wanted to come back. Today’s experience was less than stellar. The staff just came across as rude and uninviting . As we were leaving I asked if I had been charged for the apricot turnover ,and I was told YES . I asked for a refund, they refunded my $3.50 then I asked how much the sales tax was on $3.50 so he handed an additional $.25 to me with some haste . As we were walking out, the female employee announces to us along with everyone else in the establishment to “HAVE FUN KILLING STUFF” ,then she scurried to the back kitchen area out of sight. Not sure what her comment was referring to ,but I assume because we were dressed like a couple good old boys in our Carharts and such, she thought we were hunters ? Not hunters, I’ve never hunted in my life and I don’t own any guns. I think her comment was childish and uncalled for. I understand we are all human, we all make mistakes. Just own it and move on with grace . Won’t be back and apparently they won’t miss our business

Outstanding grain bowls. Picked this as a place to stop for lunch on our way from Greenville to middle Georgia. Smart move. This will be a regular stop.

Stopped here for lunch on a history field trip to Kettle Creek Battlefield. A quaint little Cafe on the square. Great food, friendly staff, and awesome service. Definitely 5 stars!

The cafe overlooks the town square. Lunch was delicious. Everything was fresh from local suppliers. We enjoyed a Club Sandwich and the Bambi Salad with Grilled Chicken. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service personalized. The baker welcomed us at the door. After lunch we ordered a variety of freshly baked items to enjoy on our trip. A Lemon Bar, Pumpkin Streusel, Banana Nut and Chocolate Chip muffins.
