Today, while making deliveries, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised.
It was almost like revisiting the past. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with the smell of great food. The place was spotless, with old pictures on the wall and a display of old antique license plates.
But what really got it for me was the vintage Dr. Pepper sign, if you know, you know.
Now that was only the beginning. The first person I spoke with was a current customer, who suggested I try the egg roll. People and family who know me know I don't care for anybody's egg rolls. (Most are doughy and flavorless)
Not true here, these things were stuffed from the "Rooted to the Tudor", fresh pulled pork and cold slaw that came with a savory BBQ sauce, which are guaranteed to knock your socks off.
The owners, please forgive me for not remembering their names. did such a great job of making me and all the other customers feel welcome that no one, and I mean no one, got overlooked. I would like to thank them personally, along with their mom, who swears she's not the cook, but she's always coming out of the kitchen. And to the young lady they just hired with a beautiful personality, who checked on me and made sure I got extra sauce. I just want her to know, keep up the good work.
There is so much more I could say about this great place, but I don't want to make this any longer than it already is.
I'll say this: if you want to take a step back in time and get some good old-fashioned service, great food, and a time you won't soon forget, go visit them today, and tell old Rick sent ya...

Country's BBQ in Columbus is awesome and always has been for the nearly 40 years I've been going there! All the staff were very kind and attentive and the environment is always nostalgic and clean. If your ever in the Columbus GA area stop by country's and have some bbq!
