Great coffee, good tour, excellent shop to purchase items

December 2022 update:I was enjoying this coffee, and finally found the perfect brew. Recent price increases over the last year or so have priced me out of buying Koa any longer. I got my dad into it as well, and we both agree that while this is great coffee, there are others out there for much cheaper. Unfortunately, we no longer subscribe or purchase Koa.I’ve been exploring Kona coffee lately and ordered the Tri-Pack to give this a shot. I have settled in on the Estate which I think was by far the best of the 3. The shipping the first time around was a bit suspect as it showed up in a USPS bag that looked like it came from EBAY or something. After my first order, the regular shipments have been arriving in boxes. I sent a bag to one of my family members and it took a while to get to Boston, but they loved the coffee - as I do.I will be trying some other Kona brands to compare, but I don’t have any of the quality complaints that some others have mentioned on here. I’d recommend Koa to others.

Customer service from Koa Coffee is horrible. I ordered 3 bags and only received 2. Then took forever to get a response then they just replaced what I was missing and already paid for. This place is horrible. Will not order again. Highly recommend you spend $45 per bag at a place that cares about their customers

I have been ordering Kona coffee for years because it is so smooth to drink. I HATE bitter coffee. I want my coffee to be smooth, and able to taste the quality of the bean. For this reason I never drink dark roast, because the flavor, and caffeine, are burned out of it. I have been ordering from another Hawaiian coffee grower for years, but decided to try another. It was a mistake to try Koa. I ordered 2 bags of Estate Medium roast. The beans were so dark and smelled so burned I had to look at the bag again to make sure they hadn’t sent me dark roast by mistake. If you like smooth coffee, don’t order Koa.

I guess I should start from the fact that you cant submit a one star review on their website. if you want a year old coffee with steep price this is the place to get it.

I give Koa Coffee 1 star because of their customer service. I ordered $55 worth of their coffee and waited excitedly for it to be sent to me. Unfortunately, for some reason the package was shipped all the way to my hometown but was not delivered to my house and was sent back to Koa Coffee. I have tried calling them numerous times and leaving them a message with my request for a refund or new package and have never heard back from them. It’s been months and months. I’m just bummed because I LOVE coffee and I really wanted to try their product. I still haven’t been able to try it and am now out $55. If they would respond and remedy this issue then I would maybe be able to recommend them but as of now I highly do NOT recommend.

Ordered the 3-pack, ground. NO aroma, flat/stale. W-h-a-t? So I emailed KOA. NO reply, Eventually I sent back the 2 bags I hadn't opened -- maybe they'd get the idea. NO WORD, no apology ... no replacement. Nothing.

Update 12/15/2020: I thought to give them another shot after 2 years but nothing has changed -- the beans doesn't have the aroma like it did years ago. They don't smell fresh and feel like they've been on the shelf for a long time. I expressed my concerns with the merchant and received no response whatsoever. This merchant is not good anymore. After two weeks of delay due to "back order", they shipped only half of my order and it's now been 2 weeks and they still have not rectified the mistake. It's very hard to get a hold of someone and you always get the voice mail. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS MERCHANT.They also recently DOUBLED their price for the same coffee and got rid of the bulk 5 lbs package. This company is going down.

I bought 2lbs of their decaf whole beans for about $100. Ordering was easy and it arrived in 5 or so days. The coffee was ok, nothing special. I compare it to the SF Bay Gourmet Decaf Blend I get at Costco , but that costs only $17 for 2 lbs. Hardly worth the 5x price increase for the KOA. With my purchase they solicited my review, which I provided in much the same way as this review. Not surprising, they didn’t post my review. I’m going to stick with my Costco coffee.

Another great place to visit if you love your coffee, with family, friends, or love ones. Loved the taste samplings you get to do to figure which ones you prefer to buy and take home.

I ordered the expensive Peaberry coffee as gifts for Christmas. I had high expectations but was dissapointed and embarrassed to hear that this coffee tastes like hay. I guess quality control at the Koa plantation is nonexistent?
