We returned to the island this past month and this was my number one place I wanted to visit. Not a thing has changed, and I say that in the best way possible. Friendly service, giant portion sizes, they still have the best pork chops in the entire world. We literally planned our excursions around when...
We had a lovely meal at Manago Hotel Restaurant, a place with over a century of history, originally founded by a Japanese immigrant during the Meiji era. Although the Manago Hotel itself is currently being acquired and converted into affordable workforce housing, the restaurant—Hawaii’s oldest continuously operating one—remains open and continues to serve under new ownership. The Manago family has even agreed to share their iconic recipes, including their famous pork chops.

Did not stay here but ate at the restaurant. Pork chops with gravy was awesome. Sides of sticky rice, cabbage, beans and a unique potato/pasta salad made for a filling meal. Quaint little place with some views of the ocean.
