Super great spot, so many options and really kind staff. The Aloha Vietnam sandwich was incredible with both pork or tofu. Nice portions without over filling. You need to try the Lilikoi iced tea, there is nothing like it.

Best meal I ever had in april. Had the Thai salad and Cubana sandwich. Both are excellent. Services grade and there's a nice little gift shop there too.

The Bamboo Restaurant is an iconic historic establishment in Hawi. It's history goes back to early 1900s when it served as a hotel for the local workers. Converted into a restaurant, art gallery and store, the Bamboo Restaurant is a must visit place when going to Hawi. We visit Bamboo whenever we return to Kona-Kailua. Yesterday we ran in out of the rain and wind to have a wonderful lunch of fresh grilled Ono with pineapple salsa, Stir fry chicken with Thai sauce over rice and stir fry Ono with Thai sauce over soba noodles. All the dishes were excellent. We were greeted warmly when we ran in wet and seated immediately. It was about 11 AM so the restaurant was not crowded at all. Be sure to read the history of the establishment printed on the back of the menu. This place is part of old Hawaii, and it was fun to imagine when the workers were staying there when it was a hotel/boarding house. After lunch we spent to going through the art gallery upstairs and visiting the great store on the same floor as the restaurant. The store features many items from local Hawaiian artists. The Bamboo Restaurant is definitely worth a visit next time one visits the big island!

Easy going cafe in a historic building. Ingredients were fresh in the salad with fish. Try the local hot sauce! (And the desserts)

Over priced for what you get. Better options down the street. Especially Not good for vegetarians.

Lunch menu was a bit too pricy. Tired the tofu bahn mi sandwich. $19.50 for it seemed steep, tofu wasn't seasoned at all and the vegetables weren't pickled on it..Sandwich was very bland overall. I assumed they would marinate the tofu with something but it was pretty much just a soft/ unfirm slice of plain tofu.

Second time visiting, and vow never to miss it on future visits to the Big Island. Tonight, we all thoroughly enjoyed our steak, pasta dish and Kohala salad with shrimp - not to mention delicious starters, the chicken pot stickers, calamari, lili koi margarita and cheesecakes. Plus the service and ambiance were everything we were looking for, and we especially love the charming owner.

My husband & I went on yet another adventure This time, we went to Hawi where my Grandpa is from ?Quaint part of town, parking on the road can be kinda tight but, certain places have parking in the back ??As we entered, we were seated right away & given menus, a girl came & took our drink order... hubby, a Coke and me, a Lilikoi (passion fruit) iced tea.The menu, had good selections and on the back, talked about the history of the building which was quite interesting ??We both ordered the Kalua Pork and Cabbage...was REALLY good ??? we wanted to go to their gallery but, it closed as we were walking by the exit ? hopefully, next time....???
