This is a cute little restaurant in a historic building. Our family is seven people, but that was not a problem; they put tables together so that we had plenty of room. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. I loved my steak. My kids thoroughly enjoyed their large sandwiches. There were fresh Hawaiian rolls too. Prices were good especially considering that we were in Hawaii. The waitress was quick and attentive, but what really made our visit to Grandma's Kitchen over the top great was Grandma. Grandma came around to all the tables to talk with the costumers. Not the quick, "Is everything ok here?" you might expect from a manager. She told us the history of the restaurant and the corner it is on. You should be sure to ask Grandma why it is called, "Long Noodle Corner." She suggested things we might want to see in the area. It was really a delight to get to meet Grandma.

Gramma's kitchen was amazing! Gramma was an amazing person and was personable, heartwarming, and kind. The food was delicious, had a Loco Moco bowl that was great. portion size was amazing for the price.

If it weren't for our experience, I would have given this place 5 stars and raved about it. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Right after we ordered our food, we saw a couple that was asking about bringing a dog into the restaurant. There was no seating available (this is a tiny place) and they were put on the wait list and went outside for a walk. I informed the waitress that I was really allergic to dogs. I told her I had a long flight back to Florida and didn't want to be sick. She stated that the lady said it was a service dog, but she doubted it because there was no vest or other markings indicating that it was a service animal. They went ahead and seated the couple. Within 10 minutes, I started to have a big reaction and had to leave the restaurant. We had to eat our food in a gross park with the wind blowing it all over. It's frustrating that anyone with any type of animal can walk into a restaurant and claim it's a service animal, and there's no regard for the health of humans. This place lost a great review, and the waitress lost a huge top over her decision. When are people and their health going to outrank a dog?

I thought this place was great as far as local feel and got to meet the husband of Gramma. Started off w the fried chicken which came with 4 pieces of chicken 3 of the 4 I wouldn't even call pieces they were very small legs / drumsticks and still frozen, I informed the server who was apologetic and offered another meal to replace my frozen first choice so I opted for biscuits and gravy which was simply ok - I think the server could tell I was a little disappointed so she did send me home w a cherry cobbler My son ordered chicken tenders, which were again frozen nuggets that he didn't touch and some fries Service was great, atmosphere was even better - I just wish gramma w in the kitchen to take care of me that day, I was looking forward to someComfort food and drove 45 min + to try it just based on reviews. Will have to try it again in the future

Gramma's Kitchen is a hidden gem of a restaurant located in Historic Honoka'a Town, far north of Kailua-Kona, beyond the town of Waimea. This cozy little restaurant sits on the corner as you enter town, offering delicious homestyle cooking. Grandma herself even makes appearances to say hello once in a while. Finding parking can be a bit tricky, as it usually involves street parking or going further down the main strip and parking on the side of the road. As you walk past the charming local shops, you'll be enticed by the aroma of their mouthwatering dishes. On my last visit, I had the pleasure of trying their special, the shepherd's pie, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The dish was incredibly satisfying, bursting with flavors and made with top-quality ingredients. If you're planning a trip along the breathtaking Hamakua coast towards Hilo, don't miss the opportunity to stop by Gramma's Kitchen for a delightful lunch.Instagram: @Konafoodie

Gramma is a lovely lady. The ambience and decor of generations is cute. One of the few restaurants in Honokaa. It does get pretty busy during lunch. Good food.

The customer service is top notch at Gramma's, we actually met Gramma! Scratch made comfort food and wonderful service made this one of our favorite places to eat in the Hawaii Island! ( Out of at least 10 Mac salads we tried my Mom says this one is the best!)

While driving around the island saw a sign about historic town and decided to take the road to it. Spotted this little restaurant Gramma's kitchen, thought it might be nice home cooking type place.Quickly settled at a table and a woman came over and introduced herself as Grandma, asked our name and where were we from. It was a very special touch. We both ordered a bowl of chicken and rice soup and toast, Arrived steaming with buttered bread on side. The soup was more of a chicken and spaghetti noodles and had a nice flavor. Most of the people coming in seemed to be local to the area. It had a nice small town feel to it. Gramma came up to us as we were leaving and I received a hug goodbye.

This place was amazing. Just happened upon it while driving and sightseeing. Gramma even came out and said hello and joked around with us. Amazing service. Portions were big. Food was tasty! This is one place you do not want to miss?
