5pm. IHOP is not even 1/2 full with customers. Manager tells us 10 minute wait. I shockingly blurted out that it was crazy he only had one server on the floor. I was shocked. Only one server??!!! It’s dinner time. Manager said the new owner was running the restaurant that way now even though it’s the top grossing IHOP he owns. Sounds like penny wise and pound foolish. This is Maui. Better listen to your local staff about what works on Maui and what doesn’t. Not enough servers will piss off lots of folks and they’ll go elsewhere. Then you’ll only have the lesser amount of customers coming to your restaurant and your gross proceeds will decline. You can’t run a Maui restaurant like the mainland. This is still a foreign country. As Maui folk say “this ain’t the mainland “. Want to succeed here then listen and RESPECT your local staff and their knowledge. I’ve lived on Maui for 42 years. I’m from NY. I’m picky. However I was never upset about waiting for a table in IHOP when it’s packed. I sure was upset to hear that you want to run on a skeleton staff at 5 pm. That’s the start of dinner time here. You need to have staff available so when the rush comes they can seat and serve right away.

Parking: Sometimes hard to get parking right in front of the restaurant, but there is so much parking all the way around the whole mall, you will never be without a spot within walking distance.
Kid-friendliness: We take our 11 year old every week. Lots of other families always there with kids of all ages.

Drove from Kihei to get some pancakes at 8pm with a late night craving. Was told by a hostess who looked 13 years old that there is a 30 min wait while more than half of the restaurant had open tables (like 40+ tables)… I asked if we could just sit at a table and wait there because it was raining out- I was told no, and they would call me when the table was ready. We walked out and won’t be walking back in again. Made absolutely no sense.

The food was ok. Big portions. But there was a hair in our pancake. And a live cockroach was walking around on our table. We told our waiter. His reaction was just laughing. And told his coworker there is a cockroach on the table. Didn't really apologize or offer us anything. We were still eating our food. Maybe help us to remove the cockroach or move us to a new table would be a right thing to do. But he didn't do anything just laughing. I guess it's not a big deal for IHOP to have a live cockroach on customer 's dinning table.
Walked in at 830 and that said they were closed I will continue to leave bad reviews as much as possible

We were seated and forgot about for at least 10 min on this trip.
And I had to make the servers aware that we had not been serviced not even water not even Good morning or Aloha. They we're very cordial to the tables in front of us be hind us to the right and never acknowledged me or the wife This was our second trip in the hopes that this time would be better it was not.

It is my first time trying ihop and I love the fluffy pancake and the butter. The maple and old fashioned syrup are tasty. The sausage and bacon are tasty too but they are super small ?
I am disappointed with the waitress. She is not friendly and did not seem focused. I think she is unhealthy. She was panting when she walked.
The service is quick and I will definitely be back again to try other menus.

This honestly ,hands down, one of the best restaurants in Hawaii.. I could go somewhere and get better quality food, yeah sure, but ihop NEVER disappoints. Their service is always fast any any friendly. The restaurant is always clean ,no matter how many people are there. The food whatever you order is always cooked to perfection. Better than average.
