Great view, lousy food & drink. Tried “The View” twice for appetizers and drinks and then for breakfast. Both visits were disappointing. Drinks are watered down, the chips & salsa is a joke. Bagged chips with jar salsa, yuk. Calamari was over cooked. Poke nachos were good but the portion is small. Breakfast was clearly not fresh food. I give up. Which is too bad because we enjoy the KCC golf and view but not “The View”.

First of all, Amici's went out of business some time ago and there have been several other "operators" of this spot since, the current operator is calling it The View. Now, the "view" is great, overlooking Keauhou Bay and a wide expanse of the Pacific Ocean and during whale season it is not at all unusual to spot whales from a bay-side table. So, for The View. The menu seems complete with fresh fish dishes, pupu's and a very limited(like two choices) wine list. It is open air on an elevated story looking out at Keauhou Bay...so birds are in there and there can be bird p*** on the table. Don't expect a white table cloth place, perhaps for good reason. The night we visited three tables were in use. We were greeted and had reservations although it became apparent it wasn't necessary. We chose one of the two Chardonnay's available, asked for a chiller and it was put on the table without being offered the label but we were asked if we wanted it poured!!! The garden salad is a full portion and tasty. We had all ordered fish dishes, one fish and chips with a combo of panko and beer battered Ono, two ordered of the stripped Marlin, grilled with white rice. The fish and chips is served in a tiny basket but in ample portions but a side plate would make eating this meal much more enjoyable and easier. The grilled Marlin came as a stark presentation! Five very thin slices of Marlin, well grilled presented flat on a plate with cereal-like bowl of rice and an orange slice...nothing else on the plate. Having said that, the fish was well cooked and tasty. The food tasted good but there are some very rough edges to the rest of a good dining experience. We live here and it would be good for this enterprise to succeed, but they must improve service, presentation and ambiance. The bar is immediately adjacent to the dining area with a TV playing while in the restaurant area has some kind of music that only the thumping bass could be heard and felt at times. This was our second try here...uncertain if there will be third visit, so please make some needed improvements to the overall experience.

It was great when it was Amici Vista, not so great as Aloha Vista but seems to be back to greatness as The View. Ate there 3 times, twice for dinner and once for breakfast. They've got outstanding Fish And Chips, two different kinds and the wife likes one kind, I like the other. Good value, great food and good service. We'll be back next year for sure.

Went here for lunch with some visiting friends and liked the new mural on the wall and new tables and chairs. Service was good, food was good, but very slow coming out. About an hour to get food for a party of 6. We ordered wraps, a club sandwich, a burger, Loco moco, and sweet potato fries. The club sandwich was great and fresh tasting. Fries are crispy and hot upon delivery. Our server was very nice and made sure to write down any dietary restrictions. Just the slow food service is what I'd say needs improvement.

Excellent and tasty food. Eggplant was very good along with the other meals our companions had, spaghetti and aloha chicken. Emily was very attentive and made us feel like we were the only ones there. Reccomend it highly.

I tried to eat at Amici but no one responded to my repeated calls for a reservation. Later I found out it was operating under a new name, but did not get a reservation either.
