We lived on the Big Island for thirteen years. This was our favorite Thai restaurant. And has been the best hands down compared to others all over the country. We almost went to Thailand last year just to see how the food compared. We have been known to order about 100 raw spring rolls that we froze/sealed and brought back to Florida just to be able to have our favorite snack on the mainland. They arrived in our luggage still frozen! Tonight we enjoyed the last remaining spring rolls be bought three years ago. They tasted as good as day one. I can't wait to visit the island again just for the Thai food!! Love, love, love the Bangkok House. As well as Sue and her family.

Great option for Thai Food! We originally went to a place across the street but bailed when they informed us that it would be take out only with an hour wait. Fortunately we quickly found Bangkok Thai, where they seated us right away and all the food was absolutely delicious. We especially loved the mango curry, so flavorful! I don't know who would want to wait an hour for takeout when there's such a fantastic option only two minutes away.

This local family owned restaurant is our go-to place for pad thai. The family is lovely, the restaurant has a certain retro feel, the food is top quality and parking is easy.

My food was burnt. The meat was over cooked and the noodles were charred like chips We asked for a side of extra vegetables and they couldn't or wouldn't for an upcharge. 2 meals and 2 appetizers was $60. Generally disappointing and won't be back.

We chose this Thai restaurant by the reviews. Sadly, it was just okay, pretty darn bland (not just heat wise). The server was AWESOME and was working so hard. Sorry the kitchen wasn't as good as she was.

I've never had a dry curry in my life, that is until getting the duck curry from Bankok House. For $18 plus $2 for rice (also never paid extra for rice in a curry but okay) you'd like they wouldn't skimp on the curry sauce. You'd be wrong. I ordered to go and received in a tin a portion of duck that was dry, with basically the cheapest vegetables you can imagined stuffed in there to fill out the tray. It looks like for the "curry" they poured over a half cup of sauce for the entire order so the vegetables and duck were slightly coated, but not enough to soak into anything. I guess rice is extra because they expect you to not have anything in your entree to give it flavor.

The service is painfully slow (however they do seem short staffed), and I saw a couple roaches while waiting for the check. The food was really good though, albeit a bit overpriced, but everything is overpriced on this island.

We walked into the restaurant with only one active table. And yet, the waitress/hostess didn't acknowledge us until we waved her down and she said "I don't have a table big enough for 5, only 4." Then she said "unless you want to sit with an extra chair." Of course we would have been fine with an extra chair. It's like she didn't even want us to eat there hahaha. So we sat down and she didn't give us menus for the 20 minutes we were sitting there. Bizarre experience
