Hapino with Da Shark cafe offers excellent choice of local food. Chicken, fish or pork plate lunches for $20 make you going all day. Nathaniel was excellent waiter/bartender. Enjoy if!

I recommend not advertising hatred for our POTUS, that's a poor business decision. I approached the restaurant and saw the [f--k Joe Biden] flag and did a 180. If a business on an island of multi ethnic people thinks that orange moron (trump) is a wise choice, there is no way that business deserves my money, they can rip off people who also support morons and relayed d*** a** ideas. Too bad this business announced its support for a misogynistic, corrupt, racist, egomaniac.

NOT the same of the place anymore, don't let it confuse you like it did us! Came here for lunch today and enjoyed the views of the outside seating area. You get an awesome view of the ocean while you eat and drink. We had a few beers and then ordered some chips and salsa. My girlfriend fell in love with the chips, they were seriously great. Crunchy with some kind of seasoning on them, made them absolutely amazing. We then ordered food for lunch. I had the Kahlúa pork and rice, which is why I took a star away. The flavor was pretty good, but the meat was dry and not the best. Overall the portion was good, I left full and happy...just wanted a little more with the pork. I would for sure come back here to eat and drink again, we enjoyed the time and the staff was super friendly. Cheers!

Started and ended a long vacation at this Kona dive (It is open by the way! -- it's just called "Da Shark Shack" now) We just happened to stroll by and get sucked in by the open patio facing the gorgeous beach. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, graciously suggesting some sweet local spots to hit before we left the island. Definitely worth a taste from the happy hour menu: - Street Ono tacos (YUM) - Street pork tacos with pineapple - Hot dog (surprisingly really good!) - Margarita!!! - Bloody Mary (spiced to perfection) - Local brew on tap (love me some Ola) Drinks, food, prices, view and plentiful gecko visitors were all GREAT! I would totally call this a home-bar if I could.

Best Pina Colada in all the Hawaiian Islands - NO LIE! Maybe best in the WORLD! I haven't tried them all yet, but working on it :) Casual and cozy open air bar seating with a few tables. Plenty of shade and cover. Water views from everywhere. Don't miss sunset pina coladas here! Shout out to BRIAN!!!! This guy works his tail off! I have never seen such hustle. This dude is bartender and server of the year. Never had to wait more than a minute or two to get his attention, he kept everything moving and with a smile and a big warm dose of aloha spirit. He was the absolute best and made our day each time we came by, whether it was just for a couple drinks or to grab a bite for dinner or lunch (and also drinks :D). Whoever the owner is, I hope you take great care of Brian! Or maybe Brian is the owner! Let's hope so, this guy deserves the world for how hard he works. Food is also awesome and you cannot beat the seats inside facing out on to the water. Especially in the evenings. Always something happening in the little harbor to watch, boats on the horizon. Definitely stop in when you're in Kona.

Right on the strip. Overlooking the ocean. Eat outside while watching the sunset. Service is fast and great. Relaxing atmosphere.

We found that most places close early in Kona.. Driving back in from a long day of driving around the island this was the only place still open so we decided to give it a shot. We ordered from the bar and took a seat outside.. The view was great, but the drinks/food and service wasn't.. They kept serving a woman who was obviously drunk talking loudly about a million bees chasing her..The outside table we were at wasn't stable so you couldn't rest your arms on it cause the food/drinks would flip off... The food and drinks were pretty bland.. The service was just ok. This place was really close to our hotel but it wasn't worth going back a 2nd time.

We stopped in for a late / quick lunch. Fish tacos dry and not flavorful, poke was fresh but didn't have much flavor. Highlight was definitely the Cheese Quesadilla which was quite tasty.

This is a pretty nice joint for a nice snack in the evening or a nice smoothie on the seaside. We actually ended up visiting this place twice. The ono wrap was pretty good but the two times I ordered it the difference in portion size was noticeable. The amount of fish was probably half of the first time we ordered. Maybe because we were splitting the wrap. The passion fruit smoothie was also pretty good and tasted fresh. The wrap comes with fries so RIP if you are looking to eat healthy. Parking is a mess on this road so park as soon as you find a spot. There is a lot on a cross street.

We came here twice during our stay in Kona. It's a casual restaurant offering a bar and outdoor seating. The first time we ordered the blackened ono wrap and loved it, especially for the generous chunks of fresh ono. We came back to order the wrap again, but the second time we were disappointed to find there was much less fish in the wrap. It felt like they were skimping on the fish the second time around. If it weren't for the inconsistency in quantity, I would've given 5 stars, as the other items we ordered -- fish bites and a passionfruit smoothie -- were very fresh and delicious. The passionfruit smoothie was a great deal for the price.
