Yes, these nine tiny pieces of tuna (not even toro just the cheapest part) was put as a $23 main entree instead of appetizer and the waiter won’t tell you anything. They told everyone the wait time is 15-20min but actually 40min plus. Wouldn’t have come if not for the coupon from the resort, cuz there’s nothing interesting in the menu. And I guess that’s why they gave coupons. Turned out every part of royal kona resort is a scam.

Could not have been better food, drinks, service and atmosphere. And I'm a food snob.

Went for a late dinner without reservations. We were seated in 5 minutes. The waitress Lacy was excellent! She took our order by memory and it was perfect. We ordered the avocado bacon burger and the PO sandwich with salad and waffle fries. The food came quickly. The fries were hot and crispy and the burger was perfect. The salad was good and better than average side salads. The PHO prime rib french dip sandwich was THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN! I eat out a lot and have a taste for everything. I am not joking about this thing. It's like those Vietnamese chicken sandwiches that you get at pho restaurants but it's made with prime rib roast beef. It has cilantro and pickled cabbage on it with a few Jalapenos... The dipping sauce has such a perfect complex flavor I can't describe the epicness without doing it a great disservice. It is the perfect bend of Asian/American/French... It will absolutely knock your socks off and it is my FAVORITE sandwich EVER hands down 99 out of 10! If you don't try this on your vacation you wasted the trip. Ohh yeh and it's cheap! $45 out the door dinner for 2.

We arrived at 4:10pm for happy hour from 4-6pm. We were told it would be an hour wait. We bought a drink each & patiently waited our turn. We waited 90 mins & watched multiple groups be seated ahead of us. They sat a couple that arrived 20 mins after us at a table for 4 ahead of us. Not impressed! The menu is unclear as to what entree has a side or not. The staff are clearly overworked as our waitress wouldn’t create 2 bills for us (2 couples) & was testy when we asked questions about what we were considering to order. There was live music but atmosphere lacking with dirty tables not cleared in a timely manner & so many ticked off people waiting & stressed out staff. It’s a shame as the venue has a lovely view. We won’t be back.

Got the mai tai flight. Was hoping to be wowed but they were just okay. Nice location on the water.
Pork sliders and salad were great!!
Pleasantly surprised that a hotel type restaurant was so good. A bit brightly lit. But the location makes it worth while.
The service was equally great. Especially since the place was hopping.

Paula at the hostess stand needs a new job. We come every year and she was possibly the rudest host I’ve ever met in my life, anywhere. Either she hates people, her job, or both. Definitely condescending and feels the need to power play when we asked a simple question. Also, why do you need my phone number to seat me? Selling my information possibly?
Not sure my family will be returning. Service otherwise was a little odd overall. Too bad, this place used to be great. If it were just us 2 today, we would have walked out after our interaction with Paula.

I frequent this hotel; the restaurant was closed and merged into this location.
Previously it mainly served snacks and alcohol but is now the main restaurant.
Both this place and this hotel are reliable service facilities!!
