I came here twice during my visit and I loved everything I tried. The Alfredo past was good and the chicken sandwich was sooo good! But my favorites were the fish and chips and the piña colada. Those were the best I’ve had.

The more than one grand dinner from the famous tourist trap called the Fish Hopper in Kona. I don’t recommend this tourist trap. While the presentation is excellent, the ribeye steaks are tough and gamy. I think we were served fake ribeyes or they came ftom very old dairy cows. The seafood are too salty. The cocktail drinks are too sweet. To be fair, the local beer was okay. The waiters aren’t attentive and you have no choice to rate them according to the amount of tip because it’s part of the bill as a mandatory gratuity item. It’s turned out to be a horrible place for us to dine. With a $1K dinner bill for 6 people, we expected some nice service but we barely got any after they set the food. So basically we only paid for the food presentation, the view and the ambiance while we struggled to eat the food. I have to spit out their steak in the bathroom as it won’t go down my hatch even if I tried hard. I grill great steaks at home and their ribeye steak is trash. While we complained about the food to the waiter, all he said was sorry. The manager came and said sorry too but nothing more!!! After paying more than $1K of dinner for 6?

Excellent service at the bar. Happy hour grilled mahi mahi tacos were amaze-balls. Open air , and I highly recommend this spot for their local craft beers ! Mahalo!

When I want the fish hopper, we were a group of 11 and we got steaks and the steaks were absolutely scrumptious and the service from Danielle especially with outstanding and the manager. Tammy was great as well. The bus boy Jack was a very great guy. He helped me decide what dessert I wanted and really the atmosphere was great We had a great time and probably the best meal in Kona. I highly recommend going and I hope I can go back. We love the fish hopper!
