This is a very fun place to take family and friends! The food is really good and they have several options for the non-sushi lover. Depending on who seats you, service can be slow. On the weekends, it also gets quite crowded.

Usually we (my wife and I love the food/service etc. Unfortunately today the food my wife ordered didnt toast so good and was a little rubbery (squid) we go there approximately once per week and other the same meal usually (typically it’s much better) the cashier was not very/happy/professional/kind. The general man who helps fill drinks/host? Is always extremely kind.

What happened to Genki Sushi in Kona? We went to a different one on another island and it was a happening place. They couldn't make the sushi fast enough for the crowd of diners. We drove 30 miles for dinner here in Kona. The place looked dead. No conveyor belt or bullet train action. Disinterested employee walked past us 3 times without acknowledging us or seating us. We eventually left.
Always check your order , they staple the bag closed....they gave me the wrong items and only found it after getting home....super disappointing

This was our first visit to this chain and we thorouhgly enjoyed it. Food is reasonably priced, perfectly fine if not all that special, and conveyer belt is fun. But it was the service, in particular Elijah, that made the visit. He was great and helpful and we would return just for his service!
