Amazing place to watch the sunset and enjoy the beer and food. Staff were really friendly and food was great and perfect for the location.

Nice atmosphere, decent prices, beer prices are crazy, $8/bottle of domestic but I buy 12 pack of Kona brewing big wave brew at local store for $15. Fries were crisp and fresh, fish was frozen cod, expecting local fish for $19, but i was happy with the meal. I would and I will return again to this place.

We all ordered fish sandwiches and the fish sandwiches were very dry. The tomatoes in the sandwiches were tasteless. Not going again.

I've been going to the Harbor House Restaurant for 30 years and the food was always good, but for the last year or so the food has been really disappointing. Somebody must be cutting costs along with quality because I felt ill all afternoon and into the evening. The French fries tasted like old oil that needed to be to be changed.

Other than the location, this restaurant needs improvement. For example, when asked over the phone if the menu was up to date, it was not when we got there. Supposedly the clam chowder was their pride and joy, but the soup was watery and lacked favor served in chipped bowls - looked and tasted more like potatoes soup. Also, the menu lacks clarity on alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer - should create a separate line item for non-alcoholic items. The most disturbing feature there was disturbing number of flies and birds constantly landing on the tables and food, perhaps see through screens could be installed for health reasons. You can find other places that serve better food and pleasing ambience on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Stopped in for lunch today. Service was speedy getting my food, but then dropped off from there. I had the grilled fish sandwich with fries. The sandwich was dry and just ok. The location was great right on the harbor. I might try again, but will get something different.

Not fancy dining, but the view of the marina is fantastic, the beers are as cold as advertised, and the food is plentiful and a good price. Fairly close to airport, so perfect to catch a bit more of the beautiful view before you head home.

after a morning of diving, someone on the boat recommended Harbor House restaurant at the entrance to the harbor. It is a place that seems to hide in plain sight. I never knew it was there. It does seem to be well known to the sport fishing crowd. Lots of wonderfully cold beers on tap and a very extensive menu. As it was later in the afternoon, we shared a plate of chicken nuggets and shumai. Seating was immediate and the waitstaff was promptly attentive, making recommendations on menu entrees and the extensive draft beers. I tend to stick to Kona Brewing Company products and enjoyed a Golden Ale. Otherwise, I might have had a tough time chosing. As someone who likes waterfront bar and grilles, I can recommend this establishment.

Best fish and chips! The staff was efficent and friendly. I enjoyed the Summer Club Pogmosa that the hostess recommended. Great view of the harbor.

We went twice because honestly some of the best fish and chips and fried shrimp have ever had. Reasonably priced and service is great. We loved watching the sunsets and boats in the harbor.
