Initially troubled by the bad reviews. We had pasta primavera and the lasagna. Both were excellent and portions were so large we took some home for another meal. The manager came to our table to see how we liked our meal and service. Impressive wine selection too

We used to go outback for our anniversary, Outback close, so we try this place, For the price the food was not that good, server never told us of salad increase price if add stuff, was nothing in the menu, we thought was a choice, the lobster tasted old, the steak was good thought, but the price was double of what we paid at Outback no bread, no extras. 300$ for 2 thank you but no thank you.

Can you say food poisoning! Which I got from there pork belly carbonara! My husband had the lobster mac and cheese which did not taste right at all either! It was a terrible experience! Avoid this place if you dont want to get sick !

I reserve my five star reviews for a really exceptional experience but I do love this restaurant! We have visited twice. Our server both times was Jack and he is excellent. Our dinners were all top notch for quality and portion size. Sadly we are leaving the Island but will be back next year and Kona Pasta Company will be our first visit!

The hostess was resetting a table and put her hands on the tines of every fork and blade of every knife she placed on the table. It absolutely grossed us out.

Delicious gluten free pizza! however, definitely was cross contaminated. So if you're a true Celiac I would not recommend it. The wait staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They were kind enough to acknowledge the possibility of gluten contamination prior to even ordering food.

Service was just ok. My wine glass was dirty. Food was awful and took way too long to come out (over an hour) and when it did it was cold. I wanted to send it back then thought to myself, I just want to get the hell out of here. We definitely will not be returning. Bill for two was $186.00. Not worth it. You have been warned !! ⚠️

OMG this dinner was amazing! We really needed this after a week of eating on the run and too much fried food. Wouldn’t change a thing. Drinks were great, seasonal salad special perfect, and the ravioli special was to die for.

I read all the bad reviews but thought, “Our experience will be better than that!” It wasn’t. ?We booked a reservation for 7:30 on a Friday night. We arrived early and based on the reviews of the downstairs being muggy and damp, I asked if we could be seated upstairs. The man at the front told us that it would be a little wait but that he could probably get us a spot. We went into the bar area and it was dead. It was also very dark, muggy and made your skin feel clammy. I was glad we were going to be seated upstairs.Upstairs was breezy but extremely brightly lit with overhead can lights. The burgundy polyester tablecloths were visibly wrinkled as if they hadn’t been folded. The polyester black napkins made my skin crawl to touch. There was no tabletop lighting to create any atmosphere and they were playing 90’s rock hits from REM, U2 and the like— not classic Italian music to set the mood. Their glasses were shaped like… bamboo. They were cute but definitely didn’t fit the aesthetic at all. All of this would be totally fine in a restaurant that wasn’t trying to pass itself off as high-end.Our waiter introduced himself and told us that he was our everything tonight: waiter, busboy, etc. He was right— they only had four people working that we saw and they were all doing multiple jobs: taking orders, delivering food to tables, cleaning… They seemed understaffed and overworked. At one point, a couple who had been seated at a 2-top on the balcony decided that they didn’t want to sit there anymore (maybe it was too breezy?) and they moved themselves inside to a 4-top next to us. At first I was a little worried that their move might cause a problem for the restaurant if that table had been reserved for a 4 person party. After all, we had been made to wait for our table. But it was so dead all night that nobody else came in for that table. We placed our orders immediately after being seated at 7:30. We ordered three dishes: pork belly carbonara, chicken parmigiana and the pesto ravioli special.“Bread Service” is $6 so we decided to just be patient and wait for our food. I’ve never been to an Italian restaurant that didn’t include bread with your meal at the beginning but I also figured we could wait.We waited for over an hour. It was 8:35 when our food finally arrived. For an entire hour+ we had nothing to do but keep two hungry, bored kids busy. They didn’t even bring the kids something to color. Everyone was getting hangry by the time the food arrived and the plates were clean in a few minutes. We were all so hungry that anything would have been eaten entirely. The pesto dish was great except it was described as having “button mushrooms” They definitely weren’t button mushrooms— they were probably portobello and they were in long strips and extremely rubbery and hard to eat.We had planned to catch the trolly back to our hotel and knew that in order to catch it, we would need to be leaving the restaurant by 8:30. We were so disappointed and frustrated that we had to walk 25 minutes back to the hotel in the dark with our kids. Our bill was $95+ for three dishes— no drinks, appetizers or desserts. Absolutely ridiculous prices for the quality of atmosphere, service and food. This place is going to be in real trouble unless they start reading their many negative reviews and getting to work fixing their problems.Kid-friendliness: Not kid-friendly.

What a great find across from where we were staying. We went on a whim since it was close by. From the moment we walked up to the front door until we paid the bill we were welcomed by a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic staff. Our server Rachel was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The drinks were the best I have had on the islands, try the bacon maple smoked old fashion!Service from the kitchen was prompt, and the food quality was excellent. We got the eggplant parm, Keiki spaghetti and meatballs (which could feed any adult), and one of their specials which had bucatini, mussels, shrimp, and chorizo. Everyone was thrilled with their meals. Portion sizes were huge and if you eat the whole thing you won't have room for dessert, which you should save some room for. The giant goblet of gelato defeated both who tried to finish it. This was the best restaurant we found during our stay in Kona. Even though we walked, they seemed to have ample free parking. Go!

I'm no foodie, but we love Kona Pasta Co. This was our third visit and we asked for a second floor outside table to watch the sunset. Every dish has been delicious. Lasagna, steak, chicken, breads, desserts. Server was Alie this time and she was outstanding!

The staff were friendly and polite, restaurant clean enough but the food was not good. The pasta was overcooked and mushy. The sauce tasted like it was Ragu from a jar or a can of spaghetti-os. Do not waste your time here.
