This charming little family restaurant on the edge of town served me the best meal I've eaten in years. Chef Cindy's corn chowder, sweetbreads, and pot de creme were all incredible, and the personal service made for a memorable evening. Wish I were here longer to try out the whole menu!

Worst food and service I've had at a restaurant!! The ambiance is dated and does not live up to an upscale restaurant atmosphere.

Who knew the best French food was in Kona Hawaii! We loved our meal and experience. We have lived on Oahu for the last two years and came to Kona for a short trip, I can honestly say the best meal we’ve had since living in Hawaii.

Wow, just had a wonderful birthday dinner here. Chris and his mom-the chef and sommelier, went out of their way to make our evening special. They even decorated the the table for my birthday! It was hard to believe we're in Kona which is not known for high class food. The food was memorable (on par with any French restaurant I've been to including in France). We had the baked Brie and frog legs as appetizers and the Lavender Chicken and Sweetbreads for entrees. They had some excellent French wines and I had Lillet as an after dinner drink. Be sure to book way ahead as they fill up fast. I am still savoring the memories.

to say this place is MAGIC is an understatement!!! it's beautiful, from the moment you walk in and quietly sit on the louis the XVI settee to await your table, your experience begins!! family run, cindy and chris and their entire staff are brilliant, every need well thought out and executed precisely -it was like being welcomed into someone's home, who you knew, but by the end of dinner you were fast friends! the decor is a very provençal southern french -not stuffy at all, it just makes you want to sit and converse, bread on the table with a wonderfully soft butter and dish of meats and tapenade are there, water and a drink order to start -there is no rush here at all! we enjoyed our bottle of wine, and discussing the phenomenal choices on the préfixe menu, i of course wanted to dine on all the appetizers but narrowed it down to the lobster bisque to start, and baked brie(but i shared i swear i did!!) the others had the bisque and the french onion -which was crazy good as well, little vanilla in it enhancing its already perfect bouillon, for the mains we had to have a round of cocktails to add to the lavender rabbit (en croute even!!) i had the veal normandy perfect slices of veal, with a sauce that had brandy, shallots, thyme, apples, and cream!! my mouth is watering just writing this, and the most amazing potatoes!! -i was so into mine, i didn't even ask til later what my dinner guests thot of theirs!! for course the 3rd (dessert) i had the souffle and my dining partners had the crème brûlée and pot d'creme i shared, they didn't ...and it was wonderful cindy finished us off with the most perfect cup of coffee and a special coffee cocktail for my friend jen (ask her to make it, it's not on the menu-but it's a delight) in addition to all this, we were so very attended to even tho the intimate dining room was full; and it was incredible! to finish this, i waited nearly 4 years to come here, and while i'm devastated i wasn't able to experience it before...it was so very worth the wait, i can't wait to come back again! (come open one on the mainland in washington so i can come work for you!!) if you are on the big island, you absolutely MUST plan a trip here, it's one of the best dining experiences i've had --thank you all for making my birthday perfect!

My husband and I past this place and our optometrist is right across the street. We decided to eat here and made reservations for an early Valentine's Day celebration. The ambiance was cozy and the decor made you feel like you were actually in a Paris restaurant. The food..was excellent and delicious! My husband had the lobster bisque and I had the escargot for starters. As for the entree, I had the rack of lamb and my husband had the steak. For dessert, I had the Lilikoi mousse and my husband had something like a chocolate mousse. Merci! to Chris, Zack and the rest of the staff for making our first time and my first time eating "escargot" a memorable experience.

The food is delicious but we are not happy with the Pre Fixe menu they started a couple of years ago. We don't eat dessert and I like to order 2-3 appetizers, instead of an entree. We use to eat here 2 or 3 times a year and tried it again recently but we won't be going back, unless they go back to a la carte.

I ate here 28 years ago, when I first moved to the Big Island, and hadn’t returned till a week ago. It was my birthday celebration and my kids picked this restaurant. I’m so glad they did. It was great to try a restaurant we don’t frequent. The inside is small, quaint and cozy. Very nicely decorated. I believe only 7-8 seating areas. The menu is a set price which includes your choice of entree, main course and a dessert. We did not pair the wine as we aren’t wine drinkers. I had the escargot for my appetizer. It came on a dish which had indentations for each escargot which were in a butter sauce. Crouton (very dry and crunchy) bread was on top. The escargot were soft and delicious. I dipped my bread in the sauce to soften the texture. Due to a dietary restriction, I only ate one of the croutons and shared the rest. My main course was the filet minoin. It was cooked med/rare with the Cabernet sauce. I asked to substitute rice for the potatoes and there was a side of green beans. Everything was cooked to perfection! My dessert choice was the crème brûlée, very good. My family ordered other dishes so we could all take a bite from each other. Two of my favorites were the onion soup and the lavender rabbit. I highly recommend for a special event dining experience.Dietary restrictions: I was able to substitute the potatoes for the rice pilaf.

What a special place. The food, service, & ambiance were outstanding. When we couldn't decide which food choice to make, Cindy was very helpful. Wine list is spectacular. Thank you, Cindy, Chris, Zack, and those who are behind-the-scenes. Will definitely be back.

What a beautiful place with absolutely fabulous service and food! I've driven past this restaurant so many times and finally had dinner there. It was more than I expected. Highly recommend and, we will definitely be back. Thank you, Cindy and everyone else that makes this place an absolute gem!

Was not impressed at all especially for the price of $125. What a rip off. Mediocre at best! Portions were small and unimpressive! Never going back!
