Growing up in Kona, I did not have access to many queer spaces. Because of that, I didn't really except my sexuality or gender fluidity for quite some time. I moved to the mainland when I was 19, but if I had stayed in Kona and started going here after turning 21, I would have felt immediately accepted and loved and seen. Wonderful atmosphere, incredibly cool vibes.

Went to My Bar for the first time last week. Was excited to finally go to a gay bar on big island after living in Hilo for a few years. Went with a group of 5 on a Friday night. It was pretty quiet at 8pm, staff was nice and drinks were good.
