We tried the chicken katsu, the wontons, the smoked pork, and the spicy furikake karagi. The katsu had such a good crunch, the wontons were filled with smoked meat and the flavor of the wontons themselves was mildly sweet. The smoked pork was tender and juicy with a very nice smoky flavor. The atmosphere was very casual, and the place seemed to be owned by a lovely family. Would recommend.

The food at Nephi's is some of the best we had during our stay on the big island.Seems like a small business owner type/ family owned restaurant. The ladies were super friendly and helpful. We ordered some special lunch with fried rice and smoked pork plate lunch, and it was generous portions, perfectly cooked. Love the tasty local food and friendly owners

Stopped in about a half hour before closing. They were out of a few items and graciously substituted fries and gravy for the fried rice. Fries were hot and gravy was good. Didn't get the macaroni salad that was also to be included in the meal. Got the smoked meat (pork) and sweet sausage. My wife nor I liked either of the meats.

Such a great environment to be in , sweet lady out in the front . Customer service was on point . The food was great, I finished my food before I could even take a photo of it because it was so good . Came to Kona for a work trip from Oahu and ofc had to support local . Highly recommend

The food at Nephi's is some of the best we had during our two week stay on the big island. The smoked Portuguese sausage is unmatched. The ube pancakes are so fluffy and tender and delicious, they rank up there with some of the best pancakes anywhere. As good as the food is, the true highlight of our experience was the warm welcome we received each time we visited. The owners are so kind and friendly. If you're visiting Kona on vacation, please be sure check out small local places like Nephi's!! There's so much more to Kona than just Ali'i drive.

Came here for lunch and was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the care to make the patrons feel like family. My wife is gluten free and most Hawaiian foods are usually breaded and fried or marinated in some soy based sauce. The owner offered to simply grill a nice salmon fillet with their furikaka seasoning. It was delicious. Please come support this family run business.

Great local food offerings served up by the sweetest ladies. Our family enjoyed their meals and they had benches inside so we could enjoy our lunches. They bring your meals out one at a time as each is ready.

Kid-friendliness: Went with 2 kids (2 and 4), staff was very friendly, even interrupted their own TV show to put a kids show on the TV for the older one.

On the Big Island for vacation and found this place near a local laundromat (laundry facilities at Hilton Waikokoa were down). Best Korean and Garlic chicken we’ve had in Hawaii. Very friendly, family like staff. Love their Sponsor a Kupuna program where they supply meals to elderly in need. Shows that they really care about their community. Enjoy the food and consider supporting their Kupuna sponsorship program to share aloha while visiting!

They had to cancel half our order after 10 minutes because they were out of ingredients.Other half of the order was completely wrong. Long wait so we quietly gave up to eat it anyway but it was awful -extremely greasy cooking and grisly fatty food.3 sticky picnic tables inside with dirty disposable table cloths. No bathroom, no where to wash your hands, no napkins.
