Oceans Sports Bar & Grill

Stopped in Kona on our way around the island for a quick 24hr experience on Hawaii’s big island. It was 8:40p by the time we made it to Oceans Sports Bar. We chose it because it serves food so late - which is so difficult to find in Hawaii. Everything closes or stops food service at 8:30-9p. By 9P it held more of a club scene with DJ, dancing, young adults, and a full bar. We got seated right away, had fantastic service by our waitress and were satisfied with the food options, taste and draft beers. It made for a fun and entertaining experience to the end of the night.

Fish tacos were really good; pork tacos not so much.
Everything else was pretty good.
Just a couple of tweaks & this place can easily move to 5-stars!

Got the blackened chicken club sandwich. Best sandwich I've had in my life. $6 Mai Tais. Such a steal compared to most things found in Kona. If you don't come here you'll regret it. Thank you Oceans.

We stopped by Oceans Sports Bar & Grill for the first time in Kona, excited for some live entertainment & to support the local vibe. 🎶🩵 When we tried to put our names down for a song, we were a bit surprised when the management said it’s $1 per song & that she accepts Venmo, even pointing out there’s an ATM nearby. It felt a bit off, but we decided to stay, share some good energy, & support the place. 🍹

We paid for two rounds of drinks, which were pretty overpriced, & two games of billiards, hoping for some laid-back fun. But it was disappointing to find the pool sticks so worn out & broken at the ends that it was nearly impossible to play properly. 🎱💔

It’s a reminder that sometimes, it’s not just about the money – it’s about the experience, the connection, & the aloha spirit that makes people feel welcome. I just hope they invest a little back into the gear, the vibe, & the overall atmosphere so it can truly reflect the heart of these beautiful islands.

I enjoyed the food and the sunset

We had a fantastic Monday night dinner at Oceans Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Kona, right next to the volleyball courts. It was fish and chips night, and the meal did not disappoint—the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, the fries were crispy, and everything was served hot. Service was friendly and attentive, (thank you Michelle V) and since Mondays are a bit quieter, we got to pick any table we wanted. The $6 Mai Tais were a nice bonus and added to the laid-back island vibe. If you're looking for great food at a great value in a relaxed atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit!

Huge shout out to bartender Ryan. Great service, super friendly. If I am back on the island I will definitely come back for the great food/drinks (Ryan makes a great mai tai) and great service. The place is great for a chill, relaxed evening.

This bar is hands down the best place to watch Seahawks games! As the home of the Kona 12s, the energy here is unmatched. We’ve been coming here for years, and it’s always such a fun experience.

The tables are even decorated for game day, which adds a great touch. The service is always fantastic, the food and drink selection is excellent, and the prices are super reasonable.

If you’re a Seahawks fan (or just love a lively sports bar), this is the spot to be. Go Hawks! 🏈💚💙

I had the taco salad but added fish instead. My partner had fish tacos. Both were mediocre. The server was very nice. The Mai tai was very sweet.

Erin was an exceptional bartender, (as always) the food was really good, and better than I remembered in the past.

Horrible karaoke manager. Skipped our groups songs 4+ times simply to anger us and incite a fight, which she did. Sang along to every person’s songs and would skip people to sing her own. When we expressed our unhappiness of how she skipped us she got on the microphone and told the entire bar which resulted in a massive (and extremely unnecessary) fight. All would have been avoided if she had been a decent host.

The bartenders are great, and the owner is too! She always jumps in to help and cover shifts!. She goes out of her way to get the liquor you like. Always fun on football days! I love this place! Great tacos specials!!
