Best poke on the island. Easy ordering and quick service, too. Fish is fresh and very well seasoned, and the sides are all so tasty! Good value for the amount you get. My favourites are the avocado ahi and scoop of ube. Don’t miss them!

In Kona, by far some of the best poke and fish tacos to be had. Great selection, fast service and fantastic taste. If poke is in your future, Pa'akai should be too.

More often than not they have fresh fish. I liked all tuna options. The service is fast. They have a small free parking lot and a couple of tables outside.

This may be the best poke I’ve ever had. Many choices on the different types of fish. the spicy ahe was amazing. The helping of fish was very large, we couldn’t begin to eat it all. The folks working there were super helpful with making choices. We sat outside and ate close by. Highly recommend this place.

Small local restaurant to try Hawaiian Poke. Great experience. We ordered, quick service, then we ate on a picnic table outside. Really friendly and very good!

Pa'akai Poke – So Fresh It Might Just Swim Away

If you’re in Kona and craving poke that practically winks at you from the bowl, Pa'akai Poke is your spot. This place doesn’t just serve poke—it delivers an experience. From the moment you step in (or rather, check yourself in like a responsible adult), you can tell they’ve streamlined the process for maximum efficiency and minimal nonsense. No waiting around for someone to scribble your name on a clipboard—just get in, get your poke, and get happy.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the fish. If it were any fresher, you’d need a fishing license to eat here. The texture? Spot-on. The flavors? A perfect balance of classic Hawaiian and creative twists that make you wonder why you ever settled for mediocre poke elsewhere. Whether you’re a purist who sticks to shoyu or an adventurous soul willing to try every special on the menu, there’s something here that’ll make your taste buds throw a luau.

Service-wise, the staff is friendly, efficient, and clearly knows they’re serving something special.

Bottom line: If you leave Pa'akai Poke unsatisfied, you either ordered wrong or your taste buds need a reboot. Highly recommend!

It’s a take away place. Sit outside on park benches and enjoy delicious poke. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are huge so I would think carefully before ordering the platter meal. I got that the first time and it was too much. The next time I got the mini platter which was just right. Also the kalua pork tacos are outstanding

Love love this place, always fresh poke. The only downside is they might close earlier if they run out of fish.

The reviews are awesome so I think we were expecting the best, we can say we did enjoy this place very much! We came late in the day (our bad) so they were out of many selections. The furikake was a teeny bit salty. Otherwise would have given 5 stars. The service was excellent. We did not mind the self serve check in at all. Very efficient! I still highly recommend it!
