This was a GREAT find. The food is reasonably priced, and they give a generous portion serving. The hamburger was extremely tasty and the fries are superb, as are their salads. The fish and chips dish was not as expected...too much breading on the fish and the kind of fish is suspect, given they don't disclose it. All in all, they have a huge menu that will please anyone, though be aware that they get very busy during regular breakfast/lunch/dinner hours.

Great food at great prices! It’s a great alternative to all the very high prices at other eateries in the area. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a hearty breakfast here which was recommended by a local. The French toast was delicious as was the Portuguese sausage.

Got the breakfast burrito that was almost $20 (pretty high even for Hawaiian standards). I was expecting a monster burrito but it was pretty small in size. It was OK, could have absolutely used some more seasoning and quality ingredients. Bang for buck simply isn’t there. Probably wouldn’t come back again.

Landed in kona, first trip and decided to try out pine tree cafe. I could barely under stand the server, he really needs to speak up. Even my wife coudnt hear him speak. Food wise was very dissapointed, chicken katsu was dry and they didnt even give us sauce for it. Loco moco was dry. Might aswell go to L&L hawaiian bbq
Will not recommend to friends or family.

If you are looking for a local place with classic Hawaiian fare you are in the right place. The Loco Moco was good as was everything we ordered. Busy popular place, lots of locals. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of free parking, minutes from airport. Our flight was delayed so we made a stop, nice way to end the trip. Service was fast despite how busy they were.
