Chocolate was ok. Decent but very over priced.

Island naturals grocery store around the corner tends to have a better selection. They also have chocolates that weren’t overpriced, which we enjoyed more.

We tasted several other chocolates from Island Naturals alongside those from Puna Chocolate. All were good. Puna came in at the middle/end of the pack. We even bought two of the $18 fermented chocolate bar from Puna. Definitely a lot of hype. I would look elsewhere.

The Hilo branch is my favorite coffee spot. I think the batista is more skilled in Hilo, but you can get a very good cup of coffee at either location.

DAY 6 of Vacation - We decided to explore the area after grabbing coffee from Hico Coffee. As we walked around, we stumbled upon this cute spot. They also serve coffee, but the chocolate and merchandise is what really drew us in.

We got to sample some of their chocolate. The chocolate was delicious. They have a medium sized space, and it seemed like they had two stories but we stayed in the front. We shopped around looking for more souvenirs.

They have sell all types of products from coffee beans to homemade chocolate to dog merchandise. My MIL bought their dog a Hawaii floral outfit. It was the cutest thing ever.

They have a wide variety of chocolate treats, bars, and drinks made from different parts of the Big Island. I like their pure chocolate bars best, named after the region where the chocolate was grown.
Friendly service and great for those looking for a tasty souvenir to bring home.

Such delicious house-made chocolate. I usually don't bother to take gifts back to the mainland, but people will actually WANT these. Great find.

We paid for the $35 farm tour and chocolate tasting. Due to the obnoxious tour guide who constantly made jokes that were inappropriate and not funny, we decided to leave the tour shortly after it started. Since we still wanted to try the chocolate, we drove down the road to the Kona tasting room. When we explained the situation and that we simply wanted to try the chocolate, instead of understanding and giving us a tasting, the manager offered a 2 dollar discount and wanted us to pay for another tasting. We left. Terrible experience from start to finish.
