While the views of the sunset are pretty, the service is absolutely terrible. Before I begin, a reservation was made in advance and was not a large party whatsoever. Once seated, we waited over 15 minutes to get our drink orders taken. It then took another 45 minutes to receive said drinks. Another 15 minutes went by before our order was taken. Of course several appetizers were ‘sold out’ but we ordered alternative options along with our entrees. Over an hour went by and there was still no food so my partner ordered a drink. However several other tables that arrived after us had received their food and drinks (even the table next to us that arrived well after us received items we were told were sold out). Our food finally arrived and we got our appetizer & entrees at the same exact time. Seems to defeat the purpose of ordering an appetizer to me. During our whole wait time I watched as the bar tendered made drinks at the pace of a snail and the waiters/waitresses seemed to pick favorites. While the food was tasty, it wasn’t ‘out of this world’ or anything to write home about. If I had to rate this on a scale of 1-10, I’d honestly give it a 0. Drink prices are incredibly high and the drinks are small. Food was priced very high for small portions and wasn’t anything special. Spend your money and time elsewhere!
Beautiful place to watch sunset and get a good drink, price are about average for the area

The fish and chips were really good. Same with the ceasar salad and rosemary bread.

Food was quite good. We had fish&wedges and blackened ahi. Puna colada and the gecko were great too
I was looking for a restaurant to host my post wedding dinner because we had 18 people, but did not want anything big or extravagant and I was soooo lucky to find Sunset Kai Lanai. I spoke with Dom multiple times about set up, menu choices, etc and every single time he went above and beyond. They had a big table under the pergola ready for us that looked beautiful. The waitress was wonderful and timely.
Most of my family ordered the ribeye or the filet and it was INSANELY GOOD. I cannot begin to express the amount of comments that were said about it being the best steak, steak seasoning, appetizers, and sides they've ever had. The steaks were HUGE and cooked to perfection. I truly, truly cannot recommend this place enough. We can't stop talking about it and will hopefully come back to them again, but if we can't I hope that people see this and enjoy some amazing food for us!

Amazing place with an outstanding view. Great food. I had the Fish and Wedges (Ono) and it was great with huge portions. My wife had the Big Hawaiian pork chops and they were also fantastic....again, a huge portion. We finished off with the key lime pie for dessert. Great service as well.I recommend this place for sure.

Met friends for dinner. An open air restaurant that gave a true vibe of the outside. Portions are big. My daughter and I split the lamp chops which were excellent. Our server was attentive and very sweet.

Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, seemed like every single seat had a beautiful view of the ocean, great live music. Service was timely and welcoming. Dinner, drinks, and dessert was fantastic. Chicken was a little on the dry side, but flavor and the overall plate made up for it. A terrific experience overall.

75 minutes, no food. No remediation offered, no apology, no food. Server didn't see if we wanted another round of drinks or anything. Pathetic.

Firstly, if your going for the view it's amazing, if your going to eat, it's poor. The menu is absolutely terrible with almost no selections, prices are high and portions are small. Drink prices are way too high. Food is mediocre at best. 15.00 for 10 potato wedges is outrageous. Would never return, there are many better options.
