Closed for renovations, no reopening date
Closed- update google
This place has been closed for over 2 months with a sign on the door saying that they closed for renovations - except there is no evidence of any renovations being done.
Scandinavian shave ice is closed down for renovation
Go directly for the natural flavors for the best and most distinctive results. Well above average in the utterly crowded field of Shave Ice places on the Big Island.

Does not say anywhere it’s closed because of renovations - at least update google maps as parking here is already very difficult and then paying for parking to find that it’s closed is annoying.

Was excited to go here,heard nothing but awesome.we got there and they are closed for remodel,says they are open on google. Very bummed out not getting to try it

CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS
Do yourself a favor and pass the trip, this place is permanently closed. We drove 30min just to see that closed sign board. They haven’t updated their Google online listing and no one picks up the phone.
I found out today that they’re closed for renovations, but I still gave them 5 stars since they’ve been serving great shave ice to my family for the past three years. Luckily, I found another awesome spot nearby called Kona Wave. I tried their shave ice and acai bowl, and honestly, they’re the best in Kona in my opinion. Hopefully Scandinavian Shave Ice opens back up soon before too many customers switch over to Kona Wave.
1 star coz they should have updated their listing on google letting folks know that they are temporarily closed. They are closed as of Dec 11th, 2025
Also if you ended up still reaching here because of the wrong info on google, then head to Bubba and Fin for shaved ice, 4 min walk from here serving amazing shave ice (Buy Big Island Bomb)!
