We ordered the dosa and sambar rice which turned out to be really good. Its a must visit place for South Indian food and is completely vegetarian with many vegan options too.Mysore Masala Dosa is a superb dish eaten with different chutneys and sambars which tasted superb. Give it a try if you havent yet. The sambar rice was also very comforting full of spices and flavor. The place is in a shared food plaza but easy to find on maps.

Swami chef is cryptic (the responses are short and mean many things in this very universe - so much spirituality in your supposed to be peaceful dinner) as he can get and there is no accountability for ur order whatsoever. If you call and place the order, u wouldn’t know when your order will be ready as the call goes to some one (owner it seems) in a remote place than where the restaurant is located and when u reach there you wouldn’t know which item of your order will be available as the swami chef with spiritual towel on his head might bless you with partial refund for the items that’s not there because of your lack of luck. Avoid this restaurant if you would like to time your lunch/dinner and have the privilege to choose the food you want to eat on a particular day.Damn, Kona needs to learn some manners in running a business.

We are visiting Kona from Fairbanks Alaska for a week and we stopped by once for lunch and came back few days later for dinner. It was very authentic south Indian food.Tasted like homemade food. It is a bit pricey for what you get but being in Hawaii it is definitely worth it. It’s more of a food court environment with very little condiments and cleanings environment. Take your water as well as some wipes to wipe down your tables. The bathroom near by was not open when we went for an early dinner.

We ordered three dosas to go and took them to the home of our hosts. It was hard to know what was what since the dosas weren’t filled but were loose with containers of various sauces and fillings. We took guesses in assembling them, which was quite embarrassing since we had chosen this place. The flavors were good but the portions were small considering they were about $20 each.

This is a gem of a place, tucked into a food court not too far from downtown Kona. This place offers variety of vegetarian South Indian food options. Th food tastes delicious and is very healthy as it does not seem too greasy or oily. We tried variety of dosa and Idly’s from their menu and they were amazing. Will certainly return back.

Yummy Indian Fresh authentic food in Big Island, Hawaii. We were on 1 wk vacation at Big Island and was tired eating continental, American food every time, was so happy and truly enjoyed Authentic Indian food here. He was all by himself . You place order on Ipad ( counter) wait for ur order to be ready and enjoy.I felt veg biryani was lil spicy for me. May be should have asked for mild spice otherwise perfect!! Tea was great with all teamasalas in it. Mango lassi was great too. Dosa was made right in front of us, crispy n yum. served with red n coconut chutney along with sambar!!

I’ll give the prices a pass, I suppose, given that it’s Hawai’i, but still hurt to pay $20 for a dosa.We were waiting almost 30 minutes for our food - a relatively simple order of 2 dosas, idli and an uttapam. Dishes were decently tasty but the sambar was very watery. The dishes also came out sequentially with 5-7 mins in between each one, which led to us having to awkwardly wait to eat till everyone’s meals were ready. Cold dosas ?

Food was cold. Very unhygienic place. The food wasn’t bad, but good either way dirty outside table area also. The tables in the food court were very greasy
It took forever to get the food we ordered.
