Made a good Manhattan, but out of cherries. I was hoping they would have had UFC or the Rainbow Warriors game on, but no. No wifi, limited reception. Tasty pupus.

Really enjoyed a totally chill spot to watch a game or just have a drink. I look forward to returning to have some snacks.

Best bar in Kona!

We were looking for a place to cool down after the beach and watch the game. What a gem we found. Local brews on draft and craft cocktails. The food was surprisingly fantastic. The flying saucers and pork quesadilla were delicious.

As a mainland visitor, what a great bar. His mom makes the wontons by hand. You can tell every local that walks in there feels at home. Should be on the spots for MUST HAVE A BEER ? my boyfriend and I had to by the chili seasoning they have. So good. ❤️?

Best happy hour in town. The place to go if you want to meet actual locals.

Went here on a Thursday afternoon around 3:30 with my wife and our 9yo daughter and really enjoyed it. They were very friendly and the food was fantastic - mostly appetizers which allowed us to try different types of food. The tots were fantastic. I would come here all the time for the Scampi Tots if we lived here.

I really regret not coming to TJ's more during my partner and my week-long stay in Kailua-Kona.TJ's is truly a local's bar nestled in the Kopiko Plaza away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Kailua-Kona. My partner and I came here on a weekday for the tail end of happy hour and were warmly greeted by the owner, Trevor, himself. There were only a few people there at the time and most -- if not all -- seemed to be locals given how comfortable and already acquainted with Trevor they were. On top of their very reasonably priced drinks and appetizers, what we appreciated most about TJ's was the level of inclusivity of the place. Our time at TJ's was the single time during our outings in Kailua-Kona that POCs were the majority of patrons and it was the one time we didn't feel like the odd-ones-out. We felt at home and really comfortable here -- that says a lot about a place if I'm being honest. To top it all off, as we paid and left, a group of locals who we were sat close to but didn't talk to wished us a "Good night" -- and for nothing other than being friendly folks. Yeah, I really regret not coming back to TJ's, but if I'm ever back on the Big Island you get I'm gonna be back here.Take care and happy eating yall!

We did it! We found a true-blue locals-only spot on the big island!Credit goes to my brother Kevin. He was using Yelp to find a good place to watch the Bucs (RIP) playoff game. This place is a rowdy local sports bar! For a sports bar, they have a great selection of local taps!We got some quesadillas and, while they weren't amazing, they were good. And there were some of the most affordable food we've ever had in Hawaii so...for under $10, I guess they were excellent!Despite our being obvious tourists, all the regulars and locals were plenty friendly. You might be thinking "Andrew, how do you really know the other people in here were locals?!" Good question.1) There wasn't a lot of gawking at everything and asking basic questions about Hawaii that could be answered in 2 seconds with Google.2) When the game was over, everyone got into their vehicles and left...let's just say they were not vehicles you can rent from a rental car agency!
