Love this little place. Our 3rd time eating here. My family and I found this back in 2020. We make it a point to come here every time we come to Big Island. Great Sushi and Service.

I was struggling between a 3 or 4 for this spot, but I guess I would give it a 3 due to a number of reasons. We were seated immediately and service throughout the night was really fast. I ordered the rainbow roll, which was a California roll with fresh salmon and hamachi on top. I was expecting the classic crab salad mix, but this was just a stick of imitation crab inside the roll without any seasoning. The hamachi and salmon were both really good and fresh, but the roll itself was really small especially for the price. I did enjoy the unagi sauce and spicy mayo on top too though. The last thing that made me question this spot was that we were served our sushi rolls on paper plates - that doesn't feel right for a restaurant charging $15 per roll.

Good was amazing. Service was even better. Can't wait to go back!!!! So glad we were introduced to the cute little sushi place. The best I have had in Kona.

The udon dish and sushi rolls were disappointing. I recommend trying the Poke Bowl at another restaurant. Too much overrated. The udon dish seemed to have been pre-made and definitely overcooked. The tempura was soggy.

Sushi Cocoro and Udon Noodle is a small, intimate restaurant tucked away in an alley in Kailua Kona. We called on a whim hoping to grab dinner and were lucky enough to snag a table. The restaurant is quite tiny with limited seating, but the staff was incredibly accommodating. Based on a past recommendation, we brought our own wine and beer, only to find out upon arrival that was no longer allowed. But the owner graciously allowed us to enjoy our drinks with our meal anyway. That thoughtful hospitality really made our experience. With a compact menu, the options are simple but solid. We enjoyed fresh sushi rolls, udon noodles, and Japanese tapas plates. The food quality was good, though not the most creative sushi I've had. But the fish tasted fresh and the rolls were neatly constructed. The udon noodles in savory broth were excellent - perfect on a warm Hawaiian night. And we have to compliment the service, which was kind, prompt and attentive throughout our meal. While Sushi Cocoro may not offer the most elaborate sushi or expansive menu, it's a homey spot for tasty Japanese fare in Kona. The intimate setting and hospitable service make for a pleasant, enjoyable dinner. Just don't bring your own drinks - and be prepared for cozy quarters! A tasty local find.

We were seated quickly. We waited over 30 minutes to get menu's. It was another 30 minutes to get a drink order, and we tried to order food at the same time, but the waitress said she would be right back. Twenty minutes later, drinks arrived. A party of 4 all food arrived at separate times. By the time my food order arrived, everyone was finished eating. So had to request it to be packaged to go.All 4 of us thought the food was bland. In all, it was 2 hrs of our life we can't get back.

We had delicious sushi here. I had the cucumber roll. My husband had the chicken teriyaki roll and California roll. The teriyaki roll was so delicious!! And they made a roll of just rice and seaweed. She loved it. And the atmosphere was nice and everyone was really nice! Great place!Vegetarian options: They had several vegetarian rolls.Kid-friendliness: Will make special rolls for kids.

Great authentic sushi that you wouldn't expect from a touristy place. Very fresh sushi and the owner gave us complimentary sushi rice.
