We had the New York Strip, my husband and I raved about it all the next day! Services was incredible! We will be visiting again!

My wife and I celebrated our 13th year anniversary of being silly together and had such an amazing time. They sat us at a table along the boardwalk like we asked. We ordered a few items and wanted to share everything and they automatically split it into separate plates for us. Talk about service! And the food was out of this world good just like the time we celebrated my mom's 72nd birthday.

Service was not good. Very disappointing. Had to ask table water server twice to get waiter back to table. Never checked in with us after food served. Never came by to refresh our drink order. He seemed out of it and not welcoming.

Very nice setting on the seashore where you can watch and hear waves. We chose this restaurant after a special event we had at nearby kukio beach as we expected this would be a perfect match for this occasion. Unfortunately, we were really disapointed. The menu was partly delicious ( meats, starters) but fish were not well prepared which surprised us at this price cathegory. The main problem of this place has been a service. It was simply terrible. We travel a lot, but this would be a world winner of the worse service in many years. We were attended by many personnel, entirely chaotic and they were asking the same questions or had the same conversation. We had to urge for everything. Menu, drinks, water. Young ladies were nice but were not coordinated. The other staff was either extensively conversating with hotel guests or talking together in the group of 2-3 people. They shared their personal stories together and were not interested in the guests. One older guy with glasses was even hiding at some counter. It was like in some movie. We felt really neglected and not welcomed. We have been in several Four season in Europe and this experince really surprised us. Consider that we paid more than 600 usd for the food which you can get in better quality elsewhere on the island and really terrible or even ofensive service. Preparation of the food was also very long, something like 90 minutes.

Very disapointing. Service was really terible. We had to repeatedly ask for water, drinks, check etc. Food is very good, but definitly does not have value for the price. If you are looking for fine dining, go to Merimans in Waimea and you will pay half price there. Main problem of this restaurant is chaotic and disorganized staff. Young ladies were very nice, but they probably were not well organized. We travel a lot and the service in this restaurant was really slow and chaotic which was even disturbing and we did not feel well in the ULU restaurant. We visited many restaurants on the island, but service here was the worse by far.

We recently dined at Ulu at the Four Seasons on the Big Island to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and overall, the food was incredible. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The pork belly bao was rich and perfectly balanced, the tableside poke was a fun and delicious experience, and the fresh catch was cooked to perfection. The only miss was the crab noodles, which were unfortunately too salty for our taste.

Our server, Doug, was polite and soft-spoken. He started out attentive, but once a large party arrived after us, the service slipped — we weren’t checked on again for the rest of the meal, which was disappointing given the setting and price point (we spent $370 total).

One bright spot was the complimentary chocolate soufflé for my partner’s birthday. It was a lovely gesture, and another staff member (not our server) kindly brought it out and even sang happy birthday, which made the evening special despite the hiccup in service. Unfortunately, even though I made the reservation quite early and noted the birthday in special requests, our table did not have a good view.

In short: the food at Ulu is exceptional, the oceanfront setting is stunning, and it’s a great spot for a special occasion — I just wish the service had matched the quality of the cuisine.

We dined here twice for dinner and breakfast while staying at the resort We enjoyed the beautiful location on the water, great service, and food. The Ahi Tuna sushi rolls were excellent. The peach and burrata salad was great, too. We also enjoyed the fish special, lobster tail, and crab noodles. The chocolate and banana soufflés are not to be missed.

What an amazing anniversary place. The service is incredible. They really take the time to make you feel welcome. The food was exquisite and was our best meal on the island.

The view alone feels like therapy ocean breeze, calm energy, and that quiet luxury that money can’t fake. The food was top-tier, plated with precision, and seasoned like somebody in the kitchen still believes in passion. The service had its highs and lows, but nothing that took away from the experience.

It’s the kind of place where you slow down, look around, and realize you’re standing in moments you used to pray for. Perfect for dinner with vision the kind that feeds both your body and your purpose.

Louie K’s Up stamp: I don’t just eat for taste I eat for alignment. Every bite should remind you why you grind. 🌊🔥💭

Ulu at Hualalai went out of their way to make our birthday celebration special and SAFE! I have celiac disease, and they went above and beyond to ensure everything I ate would be gluten free for celiac. The food was delicious as always.

This was our first, but not our last! We had an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was top shelf and the view of the sunset was perfect. The table side poke was fresh and seasoned perfectly. We shared the fresh catch of the day and the crab fried rice as well as the chocolate macadamia nut soufle.

Ulu is amazing experience! We were lucky enough to have a sunset dinner facing the beach and an outstanding view. The food is fresh, well balanced, and an amazing representation of local ingredients and flavors. The kampachi poke was probably our favorite, but the Ahi Au Porve is also a must try! If you are looking for some tasty well crafted drinks, Ulu has amazing craft cocktails that are worth the visit.
