Ululani‘s Hawaiian Shave Ice

This is the best shaved ice we've ever found. We love how soft the ice is. It feels like you're eating soft snow. We love the fresh juices that they use.

Fantastic shave ice!

Portions are ample and the price is right. Staff was very friendly and forthcoming with information about what to do and see around Kona.

Don’t waste the money….

Great shaved ice and great hospitality…. Busy as expected, but worth the wait. For those who have never had shaved ice…it’s a must when visiting any Hawaiian island. There are many different flavors…pick what makes you most happy and ENJOY!

The regular size is huge. The flavors are very true to the fruit and there was just enough juice to make every spot flavored but not too much that it was a puddle of liquids at the bottom. Perfect sharing size.

We were happy that the flavor wasn’t as sweet as it appears, but we didn’t think there was anything special about this place. We prefer Original Big Island Shave Ice over this place.

l Shaved Ice is so good it made me question everything I thought I knew about desserts. The ice is softer than my therapist’s couch, and the flavors? Absolute fire. I got the tropical mix, and for a second, I swear I could hear a ukulele playing in the distance.

Pro tip: Add the condensed milk. Trust me, it takes this already perfect treat and sends it straight to the Hall of Fame. Honestly, if I lived closer, I’d be here so much they’d have to start charging me rent. Run, don’t walk. This place is a masterpiece!

Ululani’s is the best shaved ice in Hawaii, and this location is just as good as the original Maui locations we visited. The mango flavor is a must-try. I highly recommend getting haupia (coconut) ice cream and snow cap. The portion sizes are huge, so a keiki (kids) is enough for an individual serving. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive and the service is not great, but definitely worth it for an occasional treat.

Hard to find parking as it is located inside King Kamehameha resort. They're more expensive compared to other Ululani locations in different islands. As for the taste, nothing beats Ululani shave ice in all of Hawaiian islands. The only thing that can hold a candle to it is maybe Wailua Shave ice in Kaua'i. Both places have very smooth, fine shave ice with tasty, not too sweet syrup flavors.
