Just say no. Absolutely awful meal at what is essentially a fast food place. Not at all what we thought it would be but we were hungry so decided to give it a go. Just awful.
We found this place on our last full day in Kauai. The food was excellent, the place was clean and the staff were great. The fish tacos were some of the best I have ever had. The tables resembling upside down surfboards were very cool. We will look for other Coconut’s Fish Cafe in other cities.
Lunch for four on a Sunday. Fish tacos and Caesar salads with fish were very, very good. Service and ambiance were very good, as was the beer.
Coconuts fish cafe is amazing. There was a short line but they got through everyone pretty quickly. The menu offers all sorts of great Hawaiian food options. I went with the fish tacos and they are loaded with goodness. Prices are around $15 per entree so for a family of four it was around $80 including drinks. It was worth every penny though as the food was mouth-watering delicious. This is a must visit restaurant.
Four of us had lunch there. Two of us rated the place five stars and two of us said four stars. Everyone enjoyed their meal, except me. My complaint was the fish in the Fish & Chips plate was overcooked and dried out. The french fries were fair at best. For the price they should have been better.Ambience was fun. Surf boards for table tops and chairs. Surfing was being broadcast on all of the large screen TVs.The staff was friendly.
Very good food for the price. Great service! My only complaint was that the coconut shrimp was over cooked and I wish it had been served with a coconut sauce to match. Otherwise, everything was really good.
I had the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi, my wife had the fish tacos which the lady at the front desk says is their best. Then I ordered the organic coconut water, it was quite good. Our party ordered Coconut Shrimp, which the lady taking orders said was her favorite. She said the two most popular were fish and chips and fish tacos.
Excellent fish tacos and coconut shrimp. Calamari appetizer was also good. The employees were young and hard working. This place must have great management.Highly recommend.
We hosted a pre-wedding lunch for about 20 people. The food was delicious and the service was great. We used 5 different tables for our guests and people went back for seconds as the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
We ate at Coconut's Fish Cafe a couple of times during our stay in Kauai and both times the customer service and food were excellent. The fish they serve in Coconut's is wonderful quality and the breaded coating is simply delicious. We also tried the fish tacos which were also extremely good and if you are someone that doesn't want to eat huge quantities of food one serving of the fish tacos can feed two people (1 serving has 2 fish tacos). I highly recommend Coconut's Fish Cafe.

My husband went out on a limb and tried his very first poke today and this place did not disappoint! He got the teriyaki poke and ate every bite - even my picky eater kids tasted it! My daughter and I shared a fish taco mountain and it was the perfect size for the two of us to share (though could easily be a meal for one hungry person). Super fast service, friendly wait staff. Highly recommended!
Excellent coconut shrimp! Tacos are good too but deserve better tortillas! I only say that because I’m a tortilla conniseur! Also, loved the spicy poke bowl!
Fish and chips are amazing. Poke and coconut shrimp are forgettable, and much better everywhere else. Coconut porter was delicious, and staff and service fantastic. Fish tacos meh
After a day at the beach we wanted fish tacos! We checked for on line best fish tacos and found this place. It’s order at counter and had inside and outdoor seating (little surfboard tables were charming). The food though was really really good! The staff was friendly and timely- food was fast and hot. We will be back !
Alas, it was almost time to leave Kauai so on the way to the airport, we looked for one more meal before leaving this island. An internet search gave us Coconut's Fish Cafe on the way to the airport. What a great stop it turned out to be in the middle of the afternoon. The service was great and the food was just as good. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was easily the star of the meal. Moist, tender and super crunchy crust. The seafood chowder was chocked full of delicious chunks of seafood and potato. The Fish and Chips came with 2 types of fish -- Mahi Mahi and Ono. Really good is the only way to describe it. Again, the fish was fresh and moist and sat nicely inside crisp coating. To say that we were sad to leave is an understatement. As our plane lifted off the runway, we could only dream of when we can be back. If you are in the neighbourhood, don't even blink before making the decision to check out Coconut's Fish Cafe.
