With out a doubt top tier experience. Had the opportunity to try all available options. Was recommended the royal taster flight for the regular menu and a royal taster flight for their seasonal list. TOTALLY worth it to try their cacao moon regular vs their 9 year aged version/ their regular ginger spice vs the 7 year aged blend. Really fun to compare and contrast the flavor profiles.

Each glass was 2oz so plenty to share while also encouraged to make the most of the 12 TASTERS!
Definitely try their pairing menu vegan chocolate was delicious.

You won't be disappointed by the strawberry lavender, only available on island and local.

Loved the whole experience (IMO best tasting menu on island) there is a dry, semi sweet and a sweet forward for all pallets to try. Great date outting. Walked away with 3 bottles.

Such a fun experience and a MUST for anyone visiting Kauai! The mead is heavenly. You’re in for a real treat when you stop in for a tasting. And with the ability to ship bottles back to the mainland, you can bring home your favorites without crowding your luggage. We’ll be sharing some as souvenirs, but keeping most for ourselves… the perfect evening drink as we approach the fall and winter months back home. Prices are extremely fair for such quality and love poured into every bottle. Mahalo!

Wonderful surprise finding Nani Moon while I was walking around having professional auto work on a truck. I did the sample of four offerings. Really good. I'm a liquor guy but this Mead was awfully tasty.

Visited this past Saturday. Walked in and attempted to approach the counter to see the mead menu, but was cut off by the owner and told to find a table. Very similar experience to the other reviews in regard to relentless upselling, interesting staff personalities, and poor atmosphere. Tried all 10 of the current offerings, and only 1 was deemed “alright” between my boyfriend and I. Having visited many meaderies from various states with different styles, this isn’t a preference issue - they simply produce a poor tasting product. Recommend spending your time and money elsewhere on the island.

Quaint, friendly Meadery sources local ingredients from Kauai and nearby islands to create a honey wine.

Being seasoned mead tasters and mead makers ourselves, Nani Moon has always been a spot that we have tried to visit on Kauai for the past several years. However, we haven’t been able to get inside this whole time due to their shifting, odd hours, or due to them simply being closed for no reason during their supposed business hours. Finally, we were able to visit them during our most recent trip.Despite what other reviewers said, the hostess was friendly enough and we felt welcome. She did deliver a fair amount of sales pitches, but she was thorough in answering our questions about the mead.As for the mead itself, we got a royal tasting set to try everything on the menu. One issue we had was that the tasting notes were hit-or-miss when it came to accurately describing the mead. For example, we thought that the Winter Sun wasn’t full-bodied and was a bit lacking in the flavors described (side note: for the reviewers complaining that there were no traditional, non-fruited meads on the menu, this one gets pretty close). Other meads, we felt the flavor was a bit too strong, like the Buzz Squared and Deviant Behavior meads, as their flavors lingered on our palettes for a while after the tasting, and not necessarily in a pleasant way. The other meads tasted as expected, with the Cacao Moon being the favorite. It was well-balanced and tasty. All in all, it was an ok experience that is a bit heavy on the wallet. I was fine with the price of the tasting, but I felt that the prices of the bottles and merch was quite high, despite the higher operating costs of Kauai. I wouldn’t dissuade others from coming here, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it either.Side comments as a mead maker: the hostess mentioned that they stopped using crown caps due to the pandemic supply issues and had to switch to standard wine corks. This switch also caused them shipping issues due to corks popping out of bottles from carbonation. I was confused by this statement since all of their meads are still. This suggests that they might be bottling the meads before they are completely finished fermenting. Since their menu notes that they do not use chemical stabilizers (very handy tools to prevent these issues), they should probably look into using either champagne corks/cages, or letting their meads degas before bottling.

I regularly have mead from various award-winning Midwestern meaderies like Second City, Pips, and Schramms. Nani Moon's product is excellent and they specialize in dry meads which I don't usually have much access to. After tasting the regular offerings and seasonal offerings, I ended up buying a bottle of the seasonal offering of "candied orange cranberry cyser". Basically, the cyser is a mix of apple juice and honey instead of water and honey which are usually used to make mead. After we chilled it, the dry cyser paired wonderfully with our dinner that revolved around macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi.Chef's kiss!!

Went to this place as I love enjoying meads and visiting breweries when I travel. My friend and I want into this place and there was a lady behind the bar who could care less about us, was bothered by my questions and just plain rude. At one point she told me I was asking too many questions. The mead is ok if you like something that tastes like you fermented it in your kitchen. The atmosphere is weird and as a recommendation to the owners it would be advised to dump the dead weight of an employee/owner as she is a drag on anyone’s existence. At no point did I feel welcome and honestly she would be better fit in a job where she doesn’t have to interact with any humans. Ever.

We really wanted to like this place. We really wanted to support "local".This place is not local at all and has zero of the positive qualities we have found in other small business around the island. Everything from the location which is hidden in a random strip mall by an abandoned building to the interior which was just a complete mess. It's very cluttered on the inside and there's a lot of little notes demanding that guests do not take pictures and other "rules". The smell inside this place also was enough to make us walk out immediately. It was like a chemical smell mixed with rotten fruits. The lady that was working when we came in was not pleasant at all. She was rude and demanded that we buy all her attempts of up-selling us on macadamia nuts and bottles to go. My friend kind of felt bad for her so bought a bottle to take to her Mom back home because we didn't like the flavors but thought maybe someone else might appreciate a gift from Kauai. We didn't realize until after we left that the mead bottle was sealed with some sort of black duct tape. The bottle was leaking so we threw it away before we got to the airport. What a waste of $38! I will never return to this location and will definitely spread the word so no one else ruins their afternoon on such a magical island. My friend is also considering filing complaints because if she didn't catch the leaking bottle sealed in duct tape, she could have taken it on the plane and that could have been really bad...On a positive note, we very much enjoyed the Wine Shop across the street. The owners were friendly and the whole vibe was what were hoping for.

My wife and I went during the week and really enjoyed our experience. I know a little about Mead, but Vince is a wealth of knowledge. The Meads were surprisingly good, and his kind and helpful demeanor made our experience all the more memorable! Definitely make this place a stop.If I would change anything, it would be the location — this business would be an amazing addition to a large resort interested in offering a unique boutique experience in the retail space!

The older white woman behind the counter (hostess) was…Rude. If she doesn't know the answer to a question she snaps out! And is bent out of shape. The wines are only okay. This place is Nothing to write home about. Spend your money elsewhere. #wasteofmoneyI had an awful experience and felt out of place immediately walking in with my BFF. This was the only place on the Island I will never go back to. My friend and I visited quite a few places during our week-long vacation…this was the only place that did not make guests feel welcome!Don't waste your time with this place go somewhere else to ensure a great experience. It is very crammed in there as well. Uncomfortable place, staff, and atmosphere. They get a 0 on customer service.

We come to Kaua'i every 3 years or so (Covid lockdown excepted) and always plan on a stop at Nani Moon to have a flight of their meads, which use a variety of Island-sourced botanicals. Stephanie (owner/founder) provides insight into the evolution of the meads, and welcomes feedback as we progress thru the tasting.Today's visit was fun, as always. Besides the Royal Flight (tastes of 6 main meads), we tried three new meads, including one with hints of cherry, root beer and vanilla. Quite tasty .. I got one of those to go, along with my usual takeaway, Ginger Spice.Good times.

Bartender was friendly and mead pretty good but the shack vibes were odd. if they had a change of location this rating would be elevated

The mead is all flavored, so if you want simple mead, this isn't the place. The individual who served us, wasn't particularly friendly.
