I ordered the Veggie Eggwich Sandwich without egg and they quickly and kindly offered tofu as a substitute. The line was long and I didn’t want to make extra work for them but they were happy to make changes! I also tried the acai bowl with no honey it was delicious!

The best. We went here 3 times on our 6 day vacation. Service, food and coffee quality are 15/10. Food is fresh made to order and the coffee is strong and delicious. Service is impeccable, everyone is so sweet and I love that they're singing their little hearts out. You know everything is made with love.

We really love the Mexicano breakfast sandwich. Chorizo, potatoes, egg and cheese on fluffy brioche. Big, filling portions too. Get it with the aioli! YUM.

Malasada days... Yes. Just yes. We went a bit before open as they do get pretty busy, but the wait is definitely worth it. Best donuts I've ever had. Fresh, fluffy, sugar dusted and filled to perfect. The POG (passion fruit, orange, guava) was our favorite followed by mango and then pineapple. Cookies and cream was also delightful. Cinnamon sugar dusted is also amazing... Heck, they all are.

I'll be dreaming of this bakery cafe forever!

Kid-friendliness: Lots of space to wait outside and the kids love the chickens

Malasada’s are amazing! The food is great also! I love this place. Beware, they only make malasada’s on certain days and often sell out.

Was on the hunt for malasadas today after landing in Kauai. Found them! Passion bakery and cafe had them and they were made fresh to order for us! Delicious! We will be back. Check their website to see what days they are available.

MAKE IT A MUST STOP! We had heard all the rave reviews on the Kauai Vacation FB page and couldn't miss stopping here on our recent visit to Kauai. We came for the Malasadas and they did not disappoint. I couldn't pick just one so we shared 4. Our favorite was the key lime pie! They are cooked fresh to order and the best I've ever had! They have really good Kulua pork sandwiches, too! Highly recommend!

Want to taste heaven?
Eat a Lilikoi Malasada. And then eat another one. And then try a mango malasada. Oh. My. Lord. These things are no joke.
The lilikoi flavor is to die for, as is the mango, to the point where to me, every other flavor pales in comparison. Do I like the coconut one? Sure. The vanilla? Sure. But you can get vanilla anywhere. Lilikoi? Not so much.
And do you want to take a snack with you? Something that won’t ooze on your hands? Ok, well I’m back to the original flavors again: because holy cow, their lilikoi and mango shortbread cookies are so delicious, that it’s hard to decide whether to eat a cookie or a malasada. These cookies are tangy, beautiful, not too sweet, and melt in your mouth like something created in heaven would. They are INCREDIBLE. I don’t know why more people don’t mention them here.
Have you gathered yet that I love this place?
Well, you’re right.
Eating these delicious morsels literally makes my day.
If I won the lottery, I would order enough so that I could have 2 or 3 malasadas a day, and 1 or 2 shortbread cookies. Yes. Every day.
Screw the extra 10 pounds.
I don’t care.

Lastly, I appreciate that the owner responds to reviews.
And I found the staff to be mostly friendly, but all of the reviews mentioning rudeness are concerning.
I hope the staff are back to being happy, because I don’t want to lose this place!
That would be devastating!

Our family decided in Passion Bakery for breakfast since it had vegan and non-vegan options for everyone. We were waiting patiently inside in line and a lady came out and said that it was too confusing with everyone standing in line indoors so she made our family go outside and wait until the rest of the line went down. This in itself was rude, we have 3 people in our group that are on medications that make them feel Ill when standing in the heat. Regardless, we waiting outside for 20 minutes and the line never moved. Slowest moving place I've ever seen. We left and will not be back to try. Everyone that came in line behind us was confused on why we were standing at the door with the entire inside being open other than 4 people in line. We were sure to tell that we were waiting outside because the lady said no one could be inside and everyone behind us proceeded to leave as well. Lost alot of business today, hope it was worth it.

Like a good number of other reviews, this place is fantastic! Won't go into all the details of what we ordered but rest assured that this place is great! Mostly came here for breakfast - coffee, breakfast & pastries and every time it's consistent!

Small business in a quaint little spot so leave your "hurry up" attitude stateside and try to just enjoy some really good food that is served by some extremely nice/good people!! Thank you to all the Passion Bakery Cafe staff!

My expectations for Malasadas are based on what I experienced at Leonard's in Oahu! I went on a Monday morning and it looks like Passion makes fresh ones on Tues, Wed and Thur morning ( per a board outside). Though the malasadas were warm, there was this feeling of a slightly older oil smell in it. Ambience of the store was nice and "islandy"! People inside were generally jovial and lively!

The place has the best malasadas that we found on the island during our week long stay! We tried almost all of the different flavors and each one was better than the last key lime was a favorite, as well as the espresso and pog. Just be aware that the malasadas are only served on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The breakfast sandwich’s are awesome as well. Huge servings and delicious! And all of the staff are so joyful! Love the atmosphere! We hope to return to Kauai someday and this will be one of our first stops! Mahalo!
