I had a great experience today at Safeway. I'm new to online coupons on the app and wasn't sure if I added my coupon correctly and the gal working simply said she would give the coupon no matter what for trying. She kinda made my day with her positive attitude and great service. That coupon was for NY Steaks at 4.99 a lb too. I grabbed the last one.

We are living with COVID19. Yesterday while making an early morning run to Safeway, one register was open. A small young local fellow came from out of the blue to bag. Yes he was wearing a mask. But he started coughing in a muffled manner all over our stuff. I told him to leave because he obviously was sick. We told the cashier (there was no supervisor available at 7:45.) We came home and eventually were able to connect with a supervisor by phone. He watched the video of the incident on the in-store camera. Supervisor called the kid into his office and talked with him 15 minutes and there was no coughing. (The supervisor called us back to tell us this.) Obviously, this was a case of young local kid thinking let's have fun with the haoles. THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR SHOULD BE GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION. People in other parts of the country have been arrested for doing the same thing. Please people, if you see this happening again demand to speak with a supervisor. This cannot and should not be tolerated and Safeway should fire this individual.

Upset that most employees inside the store were not wearing masks, including management, checkout, and stocking. When I went to buy frozen the guy made me wait to finish while he stocked yet most of the frozen in his section was limp and not frozen, even in the closed freezers. Limp bags of "frozen potatoes" and "spinach" would only lead to freezer burn. Boxes stacked next to the freezer were too high to shop and too high keep the restocked frozen. Covid-19 is real and we want to go to shops that protect us. I didn't see anyone cleaning either. Hours weren't clearly posted on website. Kupuna hours I was told 7 every morning. That wasn't the case when I arrived. A real lack of caring.

Its really sad where we have gotten. I go to customer service desk to send money and out of the blue the lady was very rude. Even though I have not said anything yet. And she proceeded to be very aggressive for no reason whatsoever. Her coworker noticed and shakes her head. I still cant comprehend why would somone for no reason whatsoever be rude and aggressive. I never had a situation like this happen to me. Mam if u r reading this, I hope that u end up having a better day. And remember what goes around comes around

Wow, rude customer service st the guest services counter! Visiting from out of state and had an urgent need to send money abroad. I've sent money thru Western Union hundreds of times back home and always been able to use my ATM card. This associate refused to let me use my ATM card claiming it was Safeway policy. She was very dismissive and outright rude. She walked away from me before I was done asking questions. Don't work in guest services if you don't like to interact with people!

I love Safeway back home in the Bay Area, so I'm happy to report that the Safway in Kauai is just as good. They even had this giant baked brie thing that I've never seen, but I wish we had that over in the Bay Area. This location is on the larger side and they pretty much have everything you need Safeway style. Good donuts, deli, cheese, wine, the whole shabang. Overall, a great places for supplies without being price gauged at any of the resorts. Thumbs up.
Wow! This Safeway is so trendy with a Starbucks in the market, has an ample area to eat or drink nearby with tables and chairs plus restrooms too. Nice place to plug in and work on your lap top or read the paper while your significant other shops or just to relax. Wish the Safeway in my neighborhood could become trendy and updated like this. They say the grass is always greener but it's actually true- this Safeway was planned and designed ahead of the game. Another saying is be careful what you wish for but yes, I'd like a Starbucks and restrooms in our Safeway too. At least the one we have has a BOH in store branch like them... it's a start or step in the right direction.

This is also a great place to get poke. There variety poke that are really good. Kim chee shrimps and tako (octopus tentacles) are great. We eat poke until we are sick of it when we leave Hawaii.

Good place to pick up breakfast groceries if you're visiting Kauai. Having a Safeway card is helpful since the prices will be lower. You can pick up bakery goodies which make an excellent addition to a breakfast meal. I got the strawberry pudding cake and it was good. The poke at Safeway is good. I liked the shrimp kimchee poke and the spicy ahi tuna poke - it looks creamy with lots of green onions. And it has masago in it too I think. We tried the other flavors and I didn't enjoy it as much as the spicy tuna one. I would pass on the sushi though. We needed dinner on a late night once and Safeway was on the way to our hotel so we grabbed some deli sushi and yeah it wasn't great. I think the only decent one was the one that had mangos and avocado slices on top with spicy mayo drizzled. But otherwise come here for grocery essentials snd poke!

Horrible pharmacy service. 2 people, took over 30 minutes to fill small order. We were even rudely asked if we'd like our order transferred somewhere else. I will never go there again and neither will my daughter whose prescription they were filling. Excuse, I'm on the phone.
