it's just really sad. The people look forward to our visits year after year, esp their annual festivals. The boat rides made it possible what biplanes cannot. And we have no news of the impact of such economic loss. I would definitely love this but the avenues are closed here.
I was on that side of the Island there are no public restrooms and I asked if I could use their bathroom and she said no they are locked up. I was miserable and had to drive miles to a port a potty. When I went back the next day I told her how horrible I felt and she said, you should have went in the ocean! I was livid that is so rude!!! I had a nice trip to Molokai and everyone was nice except her! When I first went up to her she ignored me. So rude!!!! I don’t support businesses with people that cruel!!!

We have the sampler platter deep-fried fish chicken katsu Teri pork spam and rice. It was good and the price was fair.

Full menu from Breakfast to Lunch; closes at 3:30pm; not open on Wednesdays. Hawaiian style Burgers, Sandwiches, Bento, Smoothies. We came back twice .. Near swimming beach (with soft sand) - Kumimi Beach - 10 mins by car Small market adjacent that has a mini grocery section, drinks of all sorts, ice, Hawaiian snacks (open daily to 3:30pm).
Nice place. The small market had everything I needed and the fish & ships were great. I got it to go but finished it in the car before leaving the parking lot. I think it’s the last place to get food on the east part of the island so it’s nice to know they’re keeping up quality.

Met nice people (Joe, Nel, Angel) and had delicious and nutritious meals. Grilled Ahi with rice and fresh greens as well as a cheese burger.
No wifi, even for paying customers.
Chicken Katsu is the best on island. Convenient if staying on the east side or on your way to the beach

Maybe one and only food stop you could get on the way to the east side. But very friendly and lots of choices to eat. We stopped by twice on the way to Halawe valley to get drinks and foods.
Vegetarian options: Veggie burger and mushroom burger. French fries

Favorite spot to eat on Molokai. We stayed at Wavecrest and returned to Manae's several times. It was more economical to eat here than cook for ourselves at the condo. Breakfast was good and portions were plentiful. I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi 2 times. This little spot is a gem.

At the east end of Moloka’i is what was once known as “The Neighborhood Store,” a vital enterprise for rural residents far from Kaunakakai, and people on their way to the beach. We’ve been getting groceries and takeout from Manae Goods & Grindz for over 20 years. The nicest staff. The grocery always has a selection of poke, local baked goods, beer, wine and the Molokai Dispatch newspaper. We love the counter for its daily specials. Yesterday I had an Ahi Burger, with plentiful filets, lettuce so fresh it tastes like it was just picked, tomatoes and their secret sauce. The delicious Mahi Mahi Burger is a regular go-to. The daily special plates are favorites of the Hawaiian workers who frequent the takeout restaurant (mmmm the katsu). Breakfast and lunch takeaway and I always get the pancakes with 2 eggs and sausage, our first day of arrival. Fun watching and appreciating the locals for whom Manae is a hub. I always feel honored to be among the patrons and their kids. Lunch counter is closed on Wednesdays!
Nice locally owned store, highly recommend. Very friendly, store is clean, service is excellent.

Well prepared fried rice with homemade kalua pork. Very rich and satisfying. Can be a long wait for your order if phone orders preceded your arrival. Ask if you care or just be on Hawaiian time. Mo betta that way… make new friends.
