Food was good but service was not the best. Definitely recommend it. Beautiful view

The service just seemed grumpy like customers were an inconvenience. Then the register suggests a 20% tip as though you’re at a sit down restaurant. Then they go around yelling your name trying to find you instead of taking note where they told you to sit or giving you a number or something. It’s just a system made, not with the guest in mind.
The food was OK. The coffee was sub par. The pancake was tasty, the chicken fried steak was pretty good but the loco moco with hamburger was just bad. Like a frozen party that got overcooked on top of cold rice. But I wasn’t even offered other meat types. The cold brew was very bitter and the hot latte was only warm. As though they just poured espresso on cold milk.
And for all this we were charged $75… not a good value. My kid loved the birds though trying to eat her food.

Wildly mediocre. Insane that we spent $75 on breakfast for 2 adults. And it was not great. The service was grumpy and coffee was bad. Then the food was an underwhelming disappointment.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. Eggs Benny that were not spectacular. The have was sliced deli ham and the potatoes were dry. We did have a special ice coffee and ice tea which were good.

Breakfast at Kihei Caffe was a true highlight of our trip! We tried the Loco Moco, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, savory flavors that were the perfect way to start the day. The generous portion of fluffy scrambled eggs, tender pork, and hearty gravy over rice was incredibly satisfying. The coffee was a standout as well; we tried the coconut-flavored coffee, and it was amazing—a perfect tropical twist!
The atmosphere here is casual and welcoming, making it a great spot for a laid-back meal. The portions are huge, so come hungry! I can’t recommend Kihei Caffe enough if you’re in Maui looking for a flavorful, filling breakfast. The food and service both exceeded our expectations!

First morning on Maui and had to go to the Kehei cafe my fried rice and eggs was yummy, my wife got regular two egg breakfast and was not warm I tried the potatoes and they were not crispy. Coffee was good maybe it was an off morning because her food tasted like it was pre made . We will try it again .

I ordered the French toast with banana and macadamia nuts. Topped with a little coconut syrup. The plate was very filling. The place is very small. We were a party of 10 and had to sit at separate tables.

The first photo was taken in November 2022, and the second in November 2024. You can clearly see how much the food quality has declined; If not, please focus on the potatoes. The third picture shows the overnight muesli I ordered in November 2024, where it was hard to find blueberries or yogurt. This used to be our favorite spot for a good breakfast, but not anymore.

Kihei Cafe is a fantastic spot for a hearty breakfast or brunch, and it definitely lives up to the hype! I tried the loco moco, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, with the savory gravy, perfectly cooked hamburger patty, and fried egg all layered over a generous bed of rice. This classic Hawaiian dish hit the spot, and the portion was massive—definitely come here with an appetite!
The vibe at Kihei Cafe is relaxed and welcoming, with an outdoor seating area that gives it a casual island feel. Be prepared for a bit of a line, especially during peak times, but the wait is worth it for the quality and size of the meals. It’s a great place to fuel up before a day of exploring Maui. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for delicious, satisfying food with big portions!
