A complete rip off when it comes to tipping! There is an automatic 18% gratuity added for parties of ONLY FOUR (!!), and even more if parties are larger than 7. Plus they automatically add a 4% kitchen staff service fee. So 22% is added to your bill irrespective of whether they earn it or not. Tipping is supposed to be earned, versus guests paying the staff which is clearly the case here.

Food is excellent. Service excellent. Atmosphere? Boring. Love the fact that you do have a ocean view ... I mean on the water. Yet, the restaurant needs plants ... heck make them fake. Walls could be painted a darker shade. Needs decorations. Felt like a cafeteria. But food ... mm mm so good. Though the Atmosphere is limited, I would eat there again ... or maybe delivery?

Ok, this had to be written…

The food here is five stars, truly. Delicious.

But the prices are completely insane. Not just insane, just flat out ridiculous.

I’m attaching a picture of a raita I just paid $8 for. It’s about 2-3 oz of yogurt with some cucumber. Spinach paneer is $30. Nuts.

I’m gonna drop a 2-star here in the hopes that owners take notice. Sure, you can make all the money you can/want - but serve the local community just a bit more please.

Million dollar views while eating fresh off the grill wonderfully seasoned hearty food! We had baigen bartha, the chana curry, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, naan, and plain zeera rice all cooked to perfection. Our server was a sweet and respectful lady. Everything was fresh, delicious, and not overly spiced. 🙌🏽

We reached the restaurant by 1:45 pm for the lunch but the staff was rude and she told us that we can't dine in you can only take out and she was extremely arrogant and misbehaving with us
I will not recommend this place to any tourist where the staff is insulting them and the food was also not good

🌴 Monsoon Bar & Grill – A Must-Visit in Kihei! 🌴
We had a wonderful family dinner at Monsoon Bar & Grill with our two young kids, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The meals were freshly cooked and full of flavor—we tried most of the entrées and loved every bite. The standout for me was the yellow dal, which was perfectly seasoned and comforting and not spicy at all.
The ocean view ambience adds a beautiful, relaxing touch to the dining experience, and the overall quality of the food was truly impressive. It’s rare to find a place that balances authentic Indian flavors with such a scenic setting.
Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Kihei or looking for a memorable meal with family. We’ll definitely be back!

Monsoon Bar and Grill – A Hidden Gem in Hawaii

Tucked away in a beautiful Hawaiian setting, Monsoon Bar and Grill is a culinary surprise that delivers big flavor. The chef here is whipping up the most incredible Indian food I’ve ever tasted—authentic, bold, and deeply satisfying. The dal curry is rich and soulful, and the jeera rice is fragrant perfection. With the island breeze in the background and flavors that transport you straight to South Asia, this spot is a must-visit. Just like the Dabha style food.

I have been taking out food from this restaurant every time I visit Maui and they make excellent food. General test for Indian food is how they cook their okra. If they are slimy and with gravy, that’s not how okra’s are done but this restaurant cooks perfect okra. Their biryani’s are little over spicy(not hot) and rice they serve are slightly undercooked every time but it’s forgiven since their most of the dishes are delicious. This restaurant is located in a hotel. Huge sign on the road so you won’t miss a turn. Bit pricy but understandable considering everything needs to be imported from California.

We had a great meal and experience! I have to eat gluten free, since I have celiacs, so we specifically went to this restaurant because they offered gluten free food. ( :
(all their kobabs and curries are gluten free)
Without fail we’ve enjoyed every meal we tried.
So happy we went here!
All tasty! The best among All indian foods I have tried in my entire life!

This place used to be amazing! Unfortunately the food has deteriorated to the point of being inedible (at least the meat dishes - we had two chicken dishes and the seekh kebabs).
