Amazing view of the sunset. Walls open up and the breeze comes in. Korea, Tikka masala, butter chicken and naan were all great.

Beautiful view and delicious food.

Underwhelming experience – pricey and disappointing

I visited Monsoon Bar and Grill during my second trip to Maui after 10 years. Sadly, the experience did not match my previous visit. While the menu has stayed the same, the ocean view is no longer visible — which used to be one of its key highlights.

Service left much to be desired. Our group requested to be seated at an unoccupied table, but the staff declined, explaining that tables are assigned to specific servers. There was no effort to accommodate, and the overall attitude felt dismissive.

The food itself was just average, especially considering the high prices. The bill included 18% automatic gratuity for groups of 4–7 and 20% for 8 or more, plus a 4% kitchen appreciation fee on food — these charges were noted on the menu, but they do significantly raise the overall cost.

Given the service, food quality, and price point, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Instead, consider exploring other Indian restaurants in Maui, or branch out to nearby Mexican, Italian, or Hawaiian options for a better dining experience and atmosphere. If you still choose to dine here, smaller groups of three or fewer may avoid the automatic gratuity.

This place is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the US. The views are unbeatable and the food is on point. Lovely!

They have terrible service.

They are completely understaffed; probably understaffed by 60-70%

There were just 3 servers and god knows if any cook was there inside.
No one at the reception or bar.

No one even cared to serve or greet or tell anything g about waiting time.

Long queue of folks waiting and they don’t even care to check on the queue for long at their reception.

They simply were ignoring.

People who were seated were looking at servers for their food.

I have never seen a restaurant being run so terribly bad.

Had a really great dinner here and we liked it so much we also got takeout here even though we were only in Maui for a week! We were very skeptical coming since the restaurant is in a condo building and wasn’t sure what to expect. We were pleasantly impressed with the food, views and service. No bad tables here as they all face the bay and you can get gorgeous sunsets at the right time. Food was delicious and appropriately spiced as requested. They accommodated all special requests and the portions were generous. Papa Paneer was a standout as the fresh palak stood out and the breads were all well made as well. Too full for dessert but all of the dishes were superb. Wouldn’t mind having this available as my local restaurant! Prices are as expected in HI and service was laid back but good. Enjoyed the dinner and food was equally impressive when we got takeout.

Odered paneer kadhai , roti (bot great), dal tadka (excellent) and rice. Highly recommend dal tadka and rice spicy if you are up for it after a long day at the beach :)🏖️

Monsoon Bar and Grill is a hidden gem in Maui that serves up an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re craving flavorful Indian cuisine with a touch of aloha, this spot is a must-visit. The combination of great food, warm service, and stunning ocean views makes it stand out.

Nice place to sit and dine. The ocean and beaches are just across the wall of the restaurant and you feel like dining on the beach. Nice service

Robbery. Not an upscale restaurant but charges insane prices. Entrees don't include rice. Go somewhere else.

We ordered chili chicken, garlic naan, poori, and chicken tikka masala. All the items were average. If you crave Indian food and have no other option, I think this place would do. But I don't recommend traveling especially to this restaurant.

BEWARE! We asked for separate checks and they said they just ring you up at the counter so you can tell them which dishes to charge you for. What they don't tell you is that they add automatic gratuity on parties of 4 or more, then let me add an additional 20% tip on my bill that already included their added 18%. Food was great, service was mediocre. Seems like our server was serving the entire place. They didn't even show me a totalled bill, it's all done via computer and tap credit card machine.

This is the worst Indian food I have ever had! Please don’t waste your $$ on this food. The curry was so bad and meat was so hard! We just got chicken curry.

No one deserves to each such horrible food! So disappointing! They are selling the location not food.
