I was craving malasadas and this definitely did not disappoint. I had a lilikoi malasada one day and ube-filled the next day. Granddaughter loved the musubi.
All of their savory and sweet baked good are DELICIOUS! The service was fast and friendly. The small farmers market offers fresh local fruit and local jewelry and other items. This is a definite return for us on our next visit to Maui!
Delicious pastries and donuts
I highly recommend the ham and Swiss croissant
There are playful chickens đ running around stealing and begging for food
Its a must stop âď¸ if youre in the area
Ample parking and seating
Best malasadas in Maui! Also insane chai!
Pretty good food, lots of options as long as youâre there before they sell out. I feel like the pastries would be better warmed up a little. Service was not overly friendly. Also, waited a long time for the quiche which was very crispy by the time we got it. Flavor was good, crust was a little burnt though. Not much for gluten free options. Cinnamon roll was ok, a little dry and would have probably been better warm.
Just lovely! The lilikoi & ube malasadas are the best! :)
This was one of our favorite stops our last visit. The malasadas are AMAZING, and the staff are so friendly. Our favorites were the ube and coconut malasadas and the cookies & cream macaroons. The line can be long, and the small parking lot fills up quickly, but it's worth the wait! We will definitely be back our next trip!
The stuffed malasadas were delicious! That was their highlight. We also got scones, spam musubi, and coffee but nothing beat the donuts.
Malasadas are so good! Def get the lilikoi
Sugar Beach Bake Shop offers good customer service and quick turnaround times, which is commendable. However, much of the wait isnât due to the staff but rather to indecisive, confused, and often inconsiderate tourists. Even at 8 a.m., the line was already building.
The coffees were disappointingâthey sounded delicious but ended up being flavorless. Itâs possible, in the rush, the syrups or flavorings were left out, but either way, the coffee didnât live up to expectations. On the other hand, the scones and croissants were decent, and they offer a variety of items, including malasadas and other baked goods that look worth trying.
Prices are reasonable for the island, though the shop is very small and cramped. If this bakery were in a location with more competition, it might not stand out as much. That said, the consistent lines could be attributed to overhyped reviews rather than the actual experience.
Overall, this is a good place to visit if youâre in the area, but temper your expectations. The baked goods are solid, and Iâd recommend trying their specialties. However, if coffee is your main focus, you might want to look elsewhere.

We ate here almost every morning of our Maui trip. We only missed Sunday because they aren't open. The malasadas are amazing. My favorites were the ube and lilikoi. They paired nicely with the char-latte.

This place was incredible. I have been dreaming about the coconut malasadas for days now since leaving. They also had phenomenal macarons and croissants. Highly recommend. Such a hidden gem.

We were staying down the street and I made the walk early one morning to the bakery. It was kind of a long line, but everytime we went by the line was long! For good reason. This bakery is great and well worth the wait! Parking can be a pain, so if you can walk there, I recommend it. This is in the same parking lot with a few different businesses. We got a cinnamon roll, key lime pie and a malasadas, it was delicious! Lots of choices. I highly recommend making this stop!
