The person working the stand was very nice and did a great job. Unfortunately, this is not real shave ice; it’s closer to snow cones. There are better and more accurate shave ice places close by. They have a limited selection of flavors, but do have the basic usuals.

Tons of flavors, delicious shave ice, and the people working there were really nice. I definitely recommend Surfing Monkey Shave Ice ESPECIALLY if you're never tried shave ice! Kids love it, too.

Excellent ice cream! Made locally on Maui. Good flavors, highly recommend the macadamia nut or coconut flavor. Good shaved ice too!

Large portions, great flavors. Third shave ice on the vacation, consensus was this was the favorite. We picked them up 15 minutes to sunset and walked across the street and sat in the park for a perfect view. Beach lot was full, we had to swing behind the building and parked easily.

Our first shave ice stop on Maui and on our Hawaii trip. Really good flavors and huge portions! I just wish they had more topping options for vegans. Maybe coconut cream or something similar? Would love to have been able to try dairy free ice cream mixed with the shave ice.

Large portions and delicious !

There's a line going into this place! Shave Ice is totally awesome and delicious! I had the Big Wave with Cream & Li Hing. My husband and BIL had the Surfing Monkey each. My husband added the cream and Li Hing. My SILhad the Maui Sunset. We tried to get back to the condo to eat these, but traffic and lights all of a sudden were massively unfair. We ended up drinking ours as we went down the road. Moral of the story is eat your shave ice at the store!! The flavors were amazing!

We went here when our normal place was closed due to storms and it was good! The man working was very nice and the flavored syrups were tasty. The ice isn't shaved as finely as other places, but it sated our sweet tooth.

Generous portion sizes and excellent flavours of shave ice. This location is a small kiosk at Kihei Kalama village - so if you are facing the Foodland; this location is to the right side. We tried with sweet cream, but would have been delicious without too. Accepts Apple Pay

So far the best Hawaiian Ice we've had. A huge portion of shaved ice made with sugar cane syrup made in Hawaii. You can add a "snow cap" of cream which my husband liked.

All I can say is WOW… Went with my family while in Maui and we had ice cream and we all loved what we ordered. The Coconut and the Kona Coffee was delicious. The girl that helped us was so nice and let us try different flavors we were interested in. Definitely must visit when in Maui.

We ended up visiting Surfing Monkey twice on our visit. We enjoyed being able to get both ice cream and shaved ice so the whole family had options. The portions were gigantic unlike a couple other places we visited, which we really appreciated. The shaved ice was very close to the top of our list of all the places we tried. Check it out!
