I live in Kula and have been a frequent customer since it first opened and have always enjoyed their wide variety of choices. I called in an order tonight for pick up and was impressed with the recent redesign of the interior. However, the food experience tonight was the worst it has ever been for me since the restaurant opened. I ordered a Caesar salad, however, the croutons seem to be very stale and moist and was unable to eat more than one. Their carrot cake has always been one of my most favorite desserts at the restaurant. Tonight the slices were half the size of what they typically serve, the cake was so moist. It was mushy and spongy and the frosting tasted way too sweet and not like your traditional carrot cake frosting. My favorite go to item has been the prime rib. However, the coding and the prime rib was overcooked and way too salty. I really hope this was just a fluke, an off day that everyone has periodically. Historically this restaurant has always been my go to place upcountry. However, if this is the new menu, I need to start searching something out in Makawao
seriously one of my favorite places on maui. the sandwiches are HUGE and dont cost a whole lot, and they come with fries. there are so many restaurants that dont do that anymore. the desserts are great and everyone was super friendly and made us laugh. i appreciate this place and it’s a great date spot

Just stopped off at Kula Bistro as I didn't know that they were closed on Monday (my bad)... but while I was sitting in my car to navigate to another place - the RUDEST jerk (white male in his late 50s, close cropped white hair) came out and told me to leave immediately (it was an empty parking lot). Never have I ever been spoken to like this and we just recently moved up to Kula. I actually like this restaurant... but will not return because of this utterly entitled jerk. Obviously a miserable human being.

Been coming to many Maui for years and finally decided to try Kula Bistro for lunch. The service was great but the food was just okay. Now that we tried it, we don't feel that the food was worthy of a return visit.

I had the macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi on Sunday and had it again today when we returned just five days later. It was equally as good as the first time! This time I substituted their sweet potato, which was purple, not orange, for mashed potatoes. The portion is generous and the tastes/flavors are exceptional. The staff are friendly and the rustic atmosphere is charming. Can’t wait to return on our next trip to Maui.

We waited wayyyy too long for sub-par food. My panini was awful. A crap ton of bread, two slivers of avocado (partially brown, I might add), and maybe a slice of turkey. The highlight of the meal was some warm water with lemon, because it was freezing inside the restaurant. If it’s that cold outside, and the windows and doors are open, why have the fans on at all? 100% would not recommend, unless you like overpriced, crappy food.

Kula Bistro is so worth the drive upcountry. Always fresh, expertly prepared Island fare - farm to table, and straight from the sea. We've been here a number of times and have never been dissapointed! Desserts are always top notch as well. GO HERE!

It was so good we had to go twice on this trip to Maui. It is worth the drive! In fact skip Mama’s Fish House. The food is a higher quality, the portions are larger, and you don’t have to make a reservation or wait for 45 minutes to get a table!

We go to many restaurants on Maui. And this place is amazing. The clams are so yummy, the seafood risotto is so flavorful, the prime rib is so ono and always on the menu daily, and the dry aged rib eye is always cooked to perfection. Everyone is friendly and I love how it feels like going to a family members house to eat. We've never been disappointed with anything. We've been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love everything about this place. They just recently remodeled and the new vibe is country bistro and I love it. There are branding marks of every paniolo ranch on Maui. It's really cool to see!!

This is an awesome spot off the beaten path. Their menu goes from grilled cheese sandwiches to blackened New York steak or lobster risotto. They don’t serve alcohol, but they encourage you to go across the street to grab a beer or a bottle of wine to bring it in for dinner from a local market. We came here with four kids, it was chaos amidst amazing food. We will be back. Ask for Liz.
