Loved the world famous Ulupalakua Ranch in Maui's Upcountry off Kula Highway. The Ranch Store is across street from the winery. Ranch Store offers beef, elk or venison burgers. Beef is their signature Maui Cattle Company brand and elk is raised and processed on ranch, venison is Axis Deer, also local harvest. They can get really super busy, so plan accordingly. Retail store inside has all kinds of touristy things, clothing and other items. Great place. Worth the drive. Plenty of free parking. Outdoor dining spaces with beautiful view.

Had one of the best beef burgers of my life! The jalapeño avocado burger after a day of horseback riding at Triple L ranch was to die for. I love the little store here too - cute souvenirs and t shirts. Even if you aren’t horse back riding, which I highly recommend, this part of the island is quite charming and worth the drive just to explore!

Lord. Reading those one star reviews made me wonder if perhaps those folks were on a parallel Ulupalakua Ranch Store universe. No bathroom, no problem. As I used to tell my two year old. GO BEFORE WE GO!!! My fare was simple. A hot dog(not a hot dog really but a wonderfully firm and meaty pork sausage). The passion these owners put into the prep for their food was impressive for such a far out local. They actually took the time to cross hatch the sausage(a technique employed by the best Texas bbq dives). This, of course, exposes more surface area of the hot dog and enhances the maillard effect for a more robust flavor. I ordered a side salad with lemon vinaigrette . Would have liked a bit more of it but was very surprised with the care they took with veg prep for the salad. They used a mandolin to very thinly slice onions for the salad so as to not over power the delicate dressing. Thick sliced onion, even if rinsed( a common process used by sous chefs world wide) will ruin a salad. The cucumber,part of a mixed green and carrot ensemble, was prepared by striping the skin and deseeding it. WHAT?! In a Hotdog/Hamburger stand! Awesome. 5 stars. End of story ya’ll. Nice stop on the south road when heading out or getting back from the long stretch to Hana. Food selection of drinks and available food once the Ranch opens for business. Nice views from picnic tables around the main building and access to porta-potties if needed.
Nice roadside stop with local meat burgers. Cute gift items in the ranch shop, too.

This place is excellent for a pit stop! We ordered the beef and venison burger, and they were both extremely delicious. They didn’t even drip juice all over one bit. Even though it was a little expensive, the taste made up for it. Will come back when we have the chance!

First all of out cheeseburgers were excellent. One of us had elk while the rest had beef. Seasoned well and were very tasty. If you haven't been there before, you sit on picnic tables outside, make sure you wear a hat if you need one. If you're anywhere near and hungry, stop in. We will be back.

An adventure for lunch. It’s a bit of a hike to get here in the car. We started from Kihei so it took an hour each way. Glad we stopped there because the burger was amazing and the drive was too. I had the lamb burger and it was delicious. My wife had the regular burger and that was good too!
