We started our trip to Hana with coffee from Espresso Mafia. We had an awesome americano and a fantastic flat white. The double espresso was the star though! Rich body with a berry acidity and sweet finish. I recommend Espresso Mafia to anyone who appreciates well-prepared coffee.

Best tasting coffee we had in Maui! I got the drink with ube flavoring and it was excellent. My wife loved her Hawaiian honey latte as well. We drove 45 minutes multiple times to come here. The owner is really nice and gave us some good suggestions for touring the island as well!

When I tell you I had the *best latte of my life* here, I’m serious (lavender vanilla latte with homemade vanilla and local lavender). They sure know how to use an espresso machine!! We went to Makawao early one morning and this was one of the only places open. You can imagine my joy when we walk in and see a charismatic father-daughter duo serving up beautiful and super tasty drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries (all of which we had).
It’s worth making the trip to Makawao just to go here!
One of the few times I’ve enjoyed an espresso for the flavor and not because it’s an efficient way to consume coffee. No bitterness, all bright taste.

Espresso Mafia is a stop you must make if you’re in Makawao. Or even a reason to make a detour to Makawao!
My partner and I needed some fuel after a long hike, and dropped by Espresso Mafia after walking by the cozy and beachy interior.
Ordered a croissant with turkey and bacon, and the ube nitro latte. Was so delicious, that we had to take a photo to document the meal halfway through. The croissant was warm and toasty, loved the mozzarella and pesto condiments. And the latte was not too sweet with fragrant ube.
The cherry on top: the owner is a Maui local who was so kind to share his hospitality, family story and recommendations… and the aloha spirit!

I had their Nitro Cold Brew Latte while visiting their setup at the Seed to Cup Fest. The coffee was delicious and had the perfect balance of flavor and creaminess… not to mention that these guys put a lot of work into making some awesome in-house syrups. Anthony is such a cool dude and treats everyone like Ohana. 5 star out of 5!
