Enjoyed brunch and coffee here at a quiet Maui town, Makawao. Wait staff, mainly cashier there was friendly even my party took bit of long time to decide and order food. All menu items are on a wall, difficult to explore and decide at first. Like all other Hawaiian restaurants, the price tag does not always justify the quality and content of foods. But here at Freahies, most of omelets and drinks my family ordered were decent and nicely presented. Outside courtyard area next to big trees was perfect for enjoying Hawaiian breeze.

My family and I got a seat outside, the food was great. I had a cold brew coffee that was really nice too. Not very expensive which was really great. Service was also wonderful, super nice people.

Two major issues:
1) They added 15% to my bill because their was 6 of us - even though we seat ourselves and do not have a formal waitress. You order and pay at the register. The hostess didn't tell me, she quickly flipped the screen around for the 'tip' page so had I not caught it, I would've double tipped. They also add a 4.7% kitchen fee, which is not uncommon, albeit high.
2) When serving my wife a plate appeared to break and the hot food and broken plate dumped into her lap. It was a scene out of a movie. She was wearing white linen pants and had red food all over her. We were staying on the north side so we were over an hour away. The food runners cleaned up the mess, and my wife did her best to clean her pants, but nobody came out and said anything to us. The young food runner said that she was sorry, but this is a big deal. Her expensive pants were ruined, we now needed to drive back to the resort and change. Very unprofessional. There was an older hostess, and older adults in the back. Nobody said anything. We would have been happy had someone just came out and said that they were really sorry.
- with all of that said, the food was okay. If you're in town, try the other spots. Thier are quite a few to choose from.

Lunched here because there’s limited options in this pit-stop town. It’s a lovely town by the way. But the food here is average and way overpriced. Staff could also be friendlier. Again, limited options in the town.
This place is a must for breakfast if visiting the cute little paniolo town of Makawao. My husband is a huge breakfast burrito guy and loved the one here with the vegan chorizo.

An all around excellent and relaxing lunch. Highly recommend the soba noodle salad and chicken burrito.
Our last day on Maui brought us to Freshies! Delicious and highly recommend! Pinto beans, and the garlic chicken soup, wow! And the local beef used for the burger, so good! Mahalo!
We found this great spot after visiting the sunrise at Haleakalā.
We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the laid back atmosphere.
Wow.
This is the best breakfast we’ve had on Maui
There’s so much talk about some “more known” breakfast places on Maui but nobody talks about this place.
The food here is delicious.
I’ve tried the fried egg sando was mind blowing
And the shrimp scampi omelette too
Excellent and cozy place with fantastic food. Service is amazing. Catalina was very friendly and gave us the best suggestions.
