Hali'imaile General Store

We always make Haliimaile our first stop in Maui yearly. We are always warmly welcomed and served with attention.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our sever was excellent...very attentive and professional.

A must stop for us when we are in Maui. We always share the crab pizza for our appetizer. So good. The Baja margaritas are the best in town or anywhere. We have been going there for 20 years and have always enjoyed our meals.

Everything was very good but I was surprise at how loud it was. I am assuming with a building like that was, they can't really control it but fine dining generally means a quieter atmospheres. That being said I would highly recommend it with the noise disclaimer

Hasn't lost its charm with new ownership. Same quaint building, wonderful food and great service. Worth the drive.

Everything was fine but not sure if it was worth the drive from Kaanapali. We were seated in the very back of the restaurant which lacked ambience. Prices are high but very typical of Maui restaurants. Food was okay but both my husband and I felt sick afterwards. Ordered a drink that I did not care for but server never asked if I was okay with it or would prefer something else. Birthday dinner but no recognition. The macadamia crusted mahi mahi was good although I did not care for the purple sweet potato mash that was placed underneath the fish. Focaccia bread was very good but only two small pieces.

No reservations needed, plenty of parking, very good customer service. Bathrooms are very clean. Would highly recommend and I would come back!

Been to the General many times over many years. This was a slightly off night, kinda loud, service was perfunctory. Won't stop us form returning -- it is usually a more up than down dining ezxpereince.

Maybe purely the best food we tasted on the island. We went back for a second meal and it was a bit out of our way. Maui mahi and Chinese salad (to die for) banana cheesecake like nothing i ever had before.

Frank our server was off the charts - excellent. ive owned a resturant on this island... food and service was excellent.. !!!

Our server Frank, did a great job. However, we ordered an app, poke which was great but we split an entire and the sea bass was overcooked. We were just a bit disappointed since we would have thought everywhere on the island, they would know how to prepare fish. The rest of the meal was good!

Skip this spot for sure. No love for the dishes, bland, tasteless and overpriced. Server did not ask if we needed sugar for our tea or salt and pepper. Mediocre. Chef Bev I looked forward to my visit. Expensive for the quality and taste.

Besides Mama’s Fish House, this was the best meal we had during our 11 day vacation! Superb food & fish, beautifully prepared and presented. The cocktails are very inventive and delicious and the service is knowledgeable and sincere. The building is beautiful with high ceilings and window walls. A perfect atmosphere for a perfect meal! Make a reservation and take a ride there- the views on the way are great!

I can't recommend this place enough. We had a little hiccups but the assistant manager called us to ask us to return. We usually dont but she was extremely sweet on the phone some took the chance. We are extremely glad we did. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi and my husband ordered the Ribeye. But food we have ever eaten. My husband is very picky and for him to recommend is beyond the 5 stars we can give. He never eats green beans and he loved those also. (I need your secret on those so I can make them now at home. Lol.) It was my birthday so we ordered pineapple upside down cake and oh my taste buds.... AMAZING!! I wish we could take this place back with us. The assistant manager was absolutely amazing. She is the sweetest and cares for her customers. I highly recommend this place beyond anything else on the island.
