Aloha, We went to Assaggio's for a nice lunch, today. We had been there before, many times in the past, for family dinners and lunches. The two of us were seated, served iced water and brought warm bread and cold butter, as we looked over our menus. This has always been the norm for dining here. Nice real table clothes, napkins, silverware and nice big menus. It was a little after noon. Our server came to our table after we had taken our time looking over the menu. Everything looked so good, it was a little hard to pick one thing for lunch. We finally ordered our meals, with a house salad. At the time, there were tables with diners who were occupied, two behind myself and two behind my cousin. We ordered our small meals and a salad and munched on our bread and drank our water. While waiting for the salad and to order more bread, two other tables across the aisle from us just had diners seated at them. As we sat and talked, the recently arrived diners were served bread, butter, their salads and drinks. We had ordered small portions of the Ravioli with meatballs and the Linguine with Portobello mushroom. Anyway, we continued to talk and observed the diners across the aisle being served their meals of pasta, protein and vegetables. We patiently waited and continued to talk. I checked the time and saw that we had been sitting and waiting for our food for over 50 minutes. Did they have to source out for the meatballs or the pasta or mushrooms? When the diners across the aisle got up to leave, we hailed another server to ask about our food, as we couldn't seem to get our servers attention. Our server would not pass in front of our table and would walk quickly, looking down or away from us. Kinda weird and frustrating for us. After finally getting our waiters' attention, he said that our order would be out shortly and that he had to wait for or get appetizers. We told him that we didn't order any appetizers. Then he suggested if we wanted to cancel our order. By that time we were very hungry. So, of course not, as we were very hungry. The waiter stated that our order would be out shortly. In less than a minute he came from the kitchen and appeared with our plates. Should we have canceled? We were hungry and glad we got our food, even if it was an hour and ten minutes later. The food was, atleast hot and tasted good. Whatever the problem was, it appeared to have been cleared up. It was just upsetting to have to wait and watch as three tables came in after us, ate before us and left after we got our meal. Very disappointed with the service as this restaurant is a family favorite if ours. This was the first time we encountered service like this here. We hope that this was just a one time oversight and look forward to better service for future visits. We've always held Assaggio's to high standards, as they are the only nice Italian restaurant in the area, and we hope that they do to. Mahalo nui and Mele Kalikimaka!

Ordered dinner for delivery. Clover driver picked up the food and did not show up at our home. Apparently delivered to someone else. After multiple calls I reached a Clover representative who said they would refund us the money. This was after waiting an hour for our food. I asked what about our food? And his response was he knew that wasn't the answer I wanted to hear but all he can do is give us a refund and it would take 3 business days to receive it. We had to reorder from Assagio and there was no apology from the restaurant. We ordered for pick up this time and we were charged full price with no discount for our inconvenience. The Asaagio employee on the phone only cared that we knew we would have to pay again. When my husband got home with the food, the Caesar Salad we ordered was a tossed salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Very very disappointed, terrible service and we were repeat customers. We are not anymore.

The only thing I can comment on is the freshly prepared ceaser salad. It's made tableside and it's delicious. I recommend just for that alone. We got some beer and a margarita. The beer was good, margarita seemed a bit weak but it could have been because it was blended, I usually just have them on the rocks.

We were celebrating our daughters' birthdays and opted for an early dinner (4:30!) so that we could indulge in a huge dessert at home. Glad that we dined early, because the restaurant was quite busy. The meal and service did not disappoint; thank you!

What truly set the experience apart was the excellent service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm and welcoming. It felt like dining with old friends who just happened to be incredible hosts. The ambience was another highlight, cozy, elegant, and wonderfully quiet. It's the kind of place where you can have a real conversation over a glass of wine without raising your voice. If you're looking for a place that combines outstanding food, top-notch service, and a peaceful, inviting atmosphere, this is it.

My fried fish salad was a little pricey for what it was although I did enjoy the taste of it. The lettuce seem like it was a day or too old unfortunately but it wasn't spoiled or anything.
