The best place I found to experience local Ka'u coffee. I ordered a light roast, sourced entirely from their family plantation (i.e., single origin), in an AeroPress preparation. It beautifully expressed both the punchy and nuanced flavors of this volcanic coffee. While watching the preparation, I got to hear about their family-run operation from bean to brew.
My only regrets are that I didn't take a picture or order a bigger size.

Ordered an iced mocha, cold brew, and a cookie. It's a little pricy but a nice place to hang out and stop on the long drive from Kona to Punaluu Black Sand Beach. Plenty of parking, limited seating.

Got a coconut latte with oat milk and asked for 100% Ka’u medium espresso. Genuinely the best latte I’ve had🤩

The coffee was absolutely fantastic. Probably the best coffee I had on the island.
Highly recommend and no lines vs the tourist bakery across the street

Best coffee I have had on the Big Island and Maui!
For-here mugs available to avoid unnecessary waste is a plus.
I wish there were more smoothie ingredients but was happy to get a smoothie too, nonetheless.

This place is the perfect coffee stop if you’re making your way to Volcanoes NP. Delicious coffee, awesome atmosphere and super friendly baristas. Don’t skip the iced caramel macchiato.

Don’t get the food. Paid close to 20 dollars for a grilled cheese that was the size of 3 bites with one slice of cheese and a Costco bagel with a thin layer of cream cheese. Service was mediocre. Drinks are alright but on the expensive side for sure. Wouldn’t recommend. A rip off.
Go across the street to the punaluu bakery and you get a plate lunch for cheaper with choke food.

My wife and I drove through Naalehu twice from Kona on our way in and out of Volcano National Park. We stopped by the Ka Lae Coffee shop both times to enjoy some truly wonderful coffee. I absolutely suggest you give it a try.
