Great food yummy
Primarily a take-out place for locals, but I always dine in. Big menu. Lots of variety. Service is always friendly. Limited drink selection. Prices are reasonable. It's a laid-back local place, and people are nice to each other. I love the place.
So, ono! Very large portions!!!
EDIT: I'm updating my review. I'm done with this place and so should you be. What a rip off. I wrote below how nobody has the same prices or the same amount of food when I order. Now there's different people behind the counter. I order gravy fries add two fried eggs on top. She doesn't understand and says gravy fries with cheese with two eggs.. fine.. I'll take it with cheese.. no big deal. Then I order a grilled cheese also. She gives me a price.. like $10.50 or something. I pay for it.
After the food is ready she says I'm sorry I forgot to charge you for 2 eggs, that's $5 more. Then why does the receipt say gravy fries with cheese and under it +2 fried eggs and a price next to it?
At this point they're just making up prices.
So I normally get a large container of fries.. this is a small container. I drive all the way home and there's no gravy at all.
I understand the chef/s don't speak English, but I'm not sure how even the Hawaiians behind the counter can't get English or orders right also.
The grilled cheese was barely even cooked.
OLDER REVIEW: I only eat a few dishes here, so I can't comment on everything, but depending on which cashier you get the price is different every time.
I get gravy fries with 2 fried eggs on top. During the day I get charged less than $9, which seems right. Large fries I think are $3.99 and 2 eggs are $3.98 I think.
Then I go there at night and pay less than $6 from the other lady.
Today I got there and a different lady is there during the day.. she charges me over $12! She refunded me and tried again and it was over $9 this time.
Also, they should let you know they're out of fries and are substituting McDonald's like fries. I wouldn't have placed an order until they get the regular crinkle fries back in stock.
Portions were way bigger than I expected. Food was fine. Standard Chinese takeout fare. Friendly folks.
I want to come back and try more things on the menu. My first time here I ordered the Chef Special Cake Noodle Beef Broccoli, they give you a choice of Crispy cake noodle or a Bird nest cake noodle and you can select to have the gravy on the side so it doesn't get soggy for take out.
Terrible! I ordered takeout. The House Chow Funn was all stuck & clumped together, with literally no flavor. The Lemon Chicken was cold, UNcrispy (Chx skin was SOFT; all fallen off meat in round container) stringy and tasteless. The separate sauce was some kind of light yellow - undetectable flavor. Unbelievable! I make way better Lemon Chx at home, but today was tired, & thought I'd give this place a try. Spent $26.10 for junk. I will never return. Had to give Lemon Chx to dogs. But, I wouldn't dare give the clumpy Chow funn to my dogs, cause I love my dogs too much to give them clumpy noodles, cause they'd choke. Save your money, or go to Malama and buy Lobster tails, or their already baked Deli Whole Chx for $11.99 instead, and eat good!

I had a pleasant visit there just minutes ago. The food is delicious there with a great menu. What impressed me was the woman named Loki, who works at the front. Besides being friendly and patient, i witnessed her bring this elderly couple their food. She untied the bag, took out their food containers, opened them up for them, placed them in front of them and placed their utensils for each of them, and told them to enjoy. I haven't seen that before. Made my heart smile! We'll go back there, for sure. Ono food!!!

To pay $17 for a whole onion, rice, and about 3oz of beef is theft. It’s pretty clear what’s going on here. Also had the orange chicken and it was awful. Will never return here. Save yourself and go to l&l Hawaiian bbq down the street!

On 5/6/24, I got takeout (broccoli beef, orange chicken- they’ll make it more spicy if u ask)…I’ve been here several times in the last 5 years, but this last time was the best yet! Another favorite of mine is the chicken fried rice w/extra chicken, yum! The small egg drop soup is surprisingly large- probably 2 cups easy, lots of egg- perfect. I never get around to doing reviews, but I actually called them to tell them this was the best meal yet! Also the lady in front there was very helpful and very sweet. Mahalo, No. 1 Chinese❣️?

I don't know who in the world is running this place but, newsflash, mac salad or white rice is NOT amain course are you insane? Mac salad isn't even Chinese food how are you trying to pass that off as a main course in your 1 and 2 choice combo plates?
Literally EVERY Chinese that offers these combo plates its fried rice or chowmein and then your choices. That's what the Convo plates are literally everywhere.....and You guys still obviously have chowmein and fried frice but because covid happened and you shut down your hot bar you cant put them in a box now unless I purchase it all separately? Can you explain how that makes sense? You guys absolutely ruined your combo plates.
And how have you STILL not brought back your hot food bar since covid started.....why? That's literally what this place was centered around. It's been 4 years people.....
