We were there today at 3.15 pm and were really looking forward to the different tree cakes. Unfortunately, we stood in front of a locked gate and no one was there. Since we were only able to set it up today, this is of course a disappointment for us.

A great stop and definitely worth a trip! If you want to see the oven in action, you should go on Thursdays (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.). Free tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All information is on the homepage! We thought the tour was great! Be prepared for some history lessons too ? The area is also beautiful - would be great to use it for other events as well... (although there are many mosquitoes, so bring some repellent)

We tried the Hawaiian Coffee Baumkuchen Cake, we had never had Baumkuchen Cake before so I had no idea what to expect, it was delicious! Moist and so yummy, I can't wait to have more!

So happy we found this lovely place in our research of unique things to do near Hilo. I have some German heritage and also just always love seeing offerings that blend cultures. The cakes are super yummy as well as the tortes, but we also really loved talking to Markus and hearing how passionate he is about baking these special cakes and how much he loves his home in Hawaii.

We arrived early before the tour, began, and enjoyed some dragon fruit tortes and macadamia nut Baum kuchen. Delicious. Then we took a tour of the farm. They were able to accommodate the wheelchair users on the tour and in cooking the dough on the sticks. We all had a good time and enjoyed learning the history of the farm. The rest room was lovely and ADA accessible.

Very cute bakery which produces German coffee cakes with a Hawaiian twist. Located on a beautiful property, it's a lovely place to sit and snack. I can't rave about their coffee enough, it's K'au and very reasonably priced. A hidden gem

The baumkuchen baked here is Hawaiian style and is a bakery that bakes baumkuchen. This is a nice place to visit and the tour lasts about 30 minutes. The bakery owner will tell you about the history of the site and show you the unique plants. You can buy baumkuchen here. There is also a free sample for tasting, which is very delicious.
